So.......assuming all three of the so far injured trio Kompany, Gündogan & Sane are declared fit by the close of the international break.....

Which of them will start the derby against Maureen's Stretford Galacticos and if so......who makes way?

But who makes way?

I can see the long term 'dream pairing' in defence being Kompany-Stones but will Pep go for that straight away or keep the more settled Otamendi?

The bigger question has to be who gives way for Gündogan? :048:

Silva has been in top form; Sterling has been making things happens; De Bruyne - not a foot wrong; Fernandinho....been pretty indispensable so far? Goalito?

Oh the agony of choice :043:

I don't think any of them should start provided everyone comes back healthy from the internationals.

I say ease them in, the League Cup game is ideal for that.

I also have some reservations about Kompany going straight back in, i think he has to take a back seat for a bit so we can develop an understanding with a Kompany free centre back pairing. He can prove his fitness first and then earn his place back, we can't afford to carry on relying on him given his injury issues.

F25 or DS21 or Red Kev, BUT he may just plump for Nolito to lead the line in place of the banned SA10, play RS7 wide left and Red K/F25 Wide right.

I just can't see Pep throwing Kelechi in against the rags. KI is still learning and I am not convinced yet that KI is the man just yet.

As much s Kompany loves to play in the derby, I too have some concerns bout parachuting him straight back in to the fray against that mob. We all know that being fit to play is not the same s being 'match fit'

Assuming Aguero is unavailable then maybe Merlin as a false #9 with Gundogen taking his place in midfield.

As has been suggested maybe keep the league Cup tie for giving VK4, Sane (and Sagna) a game.

Seems the derby match will come too soon for the City club captain. Although completing two 25 minute halves of a 50 minutes practice match, it appears that he won't be risked in the high profile, high octane cauldron of the first fixture against Moaning Maureen's Stretford Galacticos....

Sound call IMO although whenever he returns I don't think I will ever watch a game in which he plays for the club without fearing that at any stage he might pull up with yet another muscle tweak, pull or catastrophic tear.
