Wilder is adamant that the system has not been sussed........by other teams, the pundits know nowt.

What i see is no longer the system that we used last season, its a mish mash system,so maybe the other teams have yet to get that sussed,Wilder is reyt.

The ref against Liverpool is Tranmere luvvin Mike Dean,in case you forgot he did the Wolves game

We don't use overlapping full backs much any more - and if we do teams crowd us out.

We use the hoof more effectively these days (y)

We seem to have abandoned overloads on our right. And not much better on our left. Some games we need to gamble.

i wouldnt say effectively ,but ya right we are hoofing it more, probably why mcburnie is looking in effective and useless. mcburnie even admited the swansea fans wouldnt recognise him as a player now.

no matter what system ya play if ya dont put ya chances away the system will look like its failing we create enough to win a game if we had top class finishers. but we dont finish em. so we need a creative mid to create more so our strikers can get more chances to score . up the blades

I agree with that there are many games where Baldock seems the best option but they go left again. As Baldock is better then Stevens i don't get that at all ?.

yes they deffo have to pay better. they still have created a minimal amount of chances we just havnt put them away. it would change the games pattern completely . and give us another yard so to speak

The system is broken missing two key component parts JOC and Fleck. Without like for like replacements we have no threat down the left. Most of our forward progress is down the right hand side which is easier to mark against.

The Fulham game showed how the system can work then fail miserably when its challenged. First half they gave us room allowing Norwood time on the ball. If we'd took our chances we would have had a lead to defend. Second half they moved 10 yards up the pitch and we failed to alter tactics until we were 1 goal down.

3-5-1-1 relies on all players being 100% on their game the key roles of wing back and overlapping centre back are crucial to its success. JOC is a huge miss and we have failed to find someone that can play in the same way and provide the physical attributes. Stevens is affected by not having anyone in front of him in the middle that goes past players or a centre back that links up with him further up the pitch. Consequently our build up play is pedestrian.

You can't play with square pegs in round holes and thats what we've got at the moment. Are there any alternative formations? well against the top six probably not but going back to our most successful formation 3-4-1-2 or going with a three up front 3-4-3 may be better options against the so called lesser teams. We need to score goals but at the same time have a DM who prevents the gaps we left against Fulham in the second half.

There's certainly a repeated pattern for playing against us. Pressure the defensive mid and double up on the wingbacks whilst retaining a high line. Our plan B of playing McGoldrick at the tip of the diamond and the two strikers in the half spaces isn't particularly effective.

A creative, mobile, left sided attacking midfielder would have given us more flexibility - but we didn't go there, we even let two left sided players go. I'm very suprised we've loaned just the one player.

But the problem is down the right.

Most of what we did well against Fulham was down our right. The interplay between Bash, Berge and Baldock is the main attacking threat of the team - we've got Burke to add as well.

A left sided forward would give us more formation options and provide like for like balance with the right.

We're becoming a B team!

Just to say we had our left sided wing back get concussion early in the game. This probably affected our left hand side

Think that covers it but would add we are without a doubt suffering with a lack of confidence in some areas and poor individual decision making and pass/shot completion. The system is fine. The players need to step it up individually and collectively.

I agree Berge and baldock did more than usual (the new ususal not the old) but bash did not get forward as much.....I understand why as Fulham are a countering team.
