What the fuck is this club doing?!?!?
What is football becoming?Apparently they want to play this super league ALONGSIDE the PL . Wednesday evening games ,.......
As long as our bent english refs are not recruited to it, we might do well.
With the Arsenal owner as joint VC, no chance. It would very quickly become the most corrupt union in sport with the super wealthy only interested in becoming even more wealthy.
Am I right in saying forming this competition would also evade any future FFP rulings?

It's bigger than FFP. It undermines the entire governance model of football. Who's to say that the Super League don't start adapting the rules and going against IFAB? Who's to say that they won't start allowing mid-season transfers? Perhaps they'll start bringing on specialist free-kick takers and then putting them back on the bench. Anything could happen once the power base shifts.
My initial reaction was entirely against it, but I've discussed it and thought about t most of last night.
For me, as a new competition per se, it's clear it could well save Tottenham from a financial implosion, and viewed in this light, I think Levy and the board really had no choice but to get on board.
By principle, I hate the idea of a most elite league that is protected against outside competition., it really is franchise football by another name.
Can you imagine the spectre of us being a midtable mediocre PL team and finishing last in the new super-league - we'll be utterly and deservedly ridiculed.
This is all going to come down to the players now i.e. what the authorities might do to them and what they'll get out of it - as they'll have every right to demand vast increases in salaries/fees.
At the same time, I have great sympathy for saying it serves UEFA right for the years of corruption and mismanagement.
This morning the PL, UEFA and FIFA will have some momentous decisions to make, I'm told, with FIFA an overarching accommodation has already been agreed in principle.
This one is going to run and run.
I was not against it from the off. But I need to know the consequences. Our financial situation may have forced Levy as you say. The 300 mil is very nice but beyond that I don't know what the potential rewards will be.
This is a bit like Brexit. A lot of posturing and threats but ultimately too much to lose so a compromise maybe.
If this is a simply a new competition that a broadcaster such as Amazon is funding - fair enough.
We all know it's more than that.
Much more.
This is the creation of a new tier of football. A Franchise model to be sold in the digital age.
In two years time we will be playing Juve in Tokyo on a Saturday evening.
Frankly, I am astonished that we got invited to the party.
Fair play to Levy. This achievement might even eclipse the new stadium.
The £300m isn't even guaranteed. It ranges from £310m down to £89m per club. I would imagine we'll be near the lower end of the scale.Sorry, you were right Nick. It is £300m, not £3billion. The SSN guy had made it sound like £3b.
I know it's still a large amount of money, but £300m makes this move seem even riskier.
It makes sense doesn't it?I wonder if having Jose as our manager elevated us into the 6 ?
