Maybe he would offer experience and skill for players like Chukwuemeka etc, perhaps even help improve Traore.

Not sure he’d like to be backup to anyone in our squad, he isn’t good enough to start either, can’t see it happening.
 
The biggest thing I think he does is allows us to save on transfer fees so we can aim for higher quality and buys us time for either a youth player to emerge or time to scout a better long-term successor.

He's also versatile, experienced, and professional.

At 35 and still playing in the top leagues, he isn't simply going around looking for a paycheck.
 
I cannot see Young coming back to Villa. Will he dislodge Targett, No, At 35 will he want to sit on the bench, No. He has reportedly got two offers to stay where he is and he has also reportedly already spoken to Burnley and Watford. I think Watford is where he will end up could be a good move for both of them

For Ward Prowse or young?
Would love Prowse. We haven't got a specialist free kick taker. And he is versatile. Can play in a couple of spots. And can pass a killer ball.
With young... They say never go back don't they. Not sure if he fits our current way of doing things really. But you never know. Stranger things have happened.

We've just signed a player who takes wicked corners, can take great free-kicks and not only can but, does pass killer balls through the opposition defence lines on a regular basis, not once in a blue moon.
 
Rumour has it Targetts going to form part of a 3 man defence in a 3-4-3 with Cash and Young on the wings (bs made by me)
