He's not a team player who barely touches the ball during a game ie not interested until he thinks he can score, basically playing with 10 men all game.
I get that some people only see goals that are all well and good when they are winning goals not goals in a 3-1 defeat or whatever. Can't fault his goalscoring record but ........

Nothing wrong with Bent at all but, signing for us, shall we say, coincided with his career sliding off the map.
And speaking of Lambert, I wanted him as a player, not particularly keen as a manager.
 
I seem to remember seeing Bent track back twice and conceding a penalty both times. However I could be mistaken so I'll have to check with my pet unicorn as it has a better memory than me......what were we on about again? 😳

I thought he was excellent up to his injury. In the 12 months after he signed he got near to 20 goals, half of which were in a Villa team with Mcleish as manager and where his main supply was from N'Zogbia.

After his injury he'd lost a couple of yards of pace and just was never the same. Plus by the time he got back we had just signed Benteke and once he got going it was clear he was the main man.
