Here's a question for everyone (albeit a likely impossible one) - IF, the nightmare happens and Jack was to leave, and let's say we received £120m for him - which (realistic) signings could Villa make with that money that would leave you satisfied and confident that Villa's progressions hasn't stalled?

None. We would definitely be stalled. It would turn into who you could keep.

The problem with the "spend 120m or so" is we aren't at the level to attract anyone good enough to adequately replace Jack. He makes every player around him better and the team stronger as a result.

With the greatest respect going out and splashing a load of money on Bailey, Cantwell, JWP and maybe 1 or 2 others can't replace what having 1 true world class talent brings to us.

Who would sign for us if we didn't have Jack even Ollie Watkins asked if Jack was starting before he signed, a championship player questioned us.
Ward Prowes won't sign if Jack is leaving neither will this Bailey lad

PR 57, that's nonsense from Ollie in reality if he actually said it. We aren't shopping for World Class, we never have. We are shopping for promise and step up, even Buendia ticks that box.

Top level, arrogance to make a difference, double your money. It really is as simple as that.
well you wouldn't want to sign for a club who was nearly relegated then find their best players has fecked off, I'm guessing Buendia was sold the ambition on the strength he's be playing with Jack not replacing him, especially as he allegedly turned Arsenal down

Why players do it all the time, no point thinking it doesn't happen and that we've only signed who we have on the back of Jack.

I'd heartily guess Buendia is confident enough to think he can replace and outshine Jack anyway, so it's win win for him in reality. Play with Jack and have fun, believe you can replace Jack and prove to be even more important in the process.

c'mon there's still plenty of championship hopefuls we can bid for -
where's Josh Onomah these days ?
and if those are tricky to get over the line maybe a loan or two from the big boys

ho hum

If £120m came our way for SJ then all of a sudden everyone would cost twice as much.
