The Summer 2020 Transfer Rumour Thread

Okay it's now official! I was hoping they missed out! Looks like we'll see if he is shit after all.

Looks like Brentford needed the extra time making this tweet, in all seriousness West Ham have really screwed Brentford over with all this loan bullshit and stringing them along to the last minute, When West Ham fans realise they've already spent 25m next summer they'll soon start crying.

I bet they won't have to buy him if they get relegated ...

I don't think there's one person who wants him to be shit more than me this season, I want you to be right, I just think he can still go up another level, We can't really waste 30m on a player like that in the position we are in, and he won't even start for us so could be the right player at the wrong time, if we don't secure Barkley next summer Jack could mature into that central role and have someone like Benrahma on the left.

I think Benramha has forced that move, probably the first time Brentford have been put in a position where they didn't call all the shots. I am somewhat confident Smith isn't keen on his mentality. TBF I do think Brentford are doing a 'take' the money and run situation selling him for potentially the height of his value. He wouldnt have had the season he just had with Watkins gone.

I don't think Benramha can make the type of step-up that warrants a potential 34MM valuation. He'll barely play anyway, the lad is a fancy dan IMO, Moyesy 100% didn't want him, he won't like his tricks and flicks and shooting everytime he is 25 yards from goal.

This has Gold and Sullivan transfer written all over it, last-minute no planning trying to give the club another big lift signing an exciting player (on paper).

I'd have had him to sit on the bench and make an impact but I am not even sure he can make the type of step-up needed to oust Trez.

I genuinely hope he does well for WH mate as I don't want them to go down but what is acceptable at Porn Towers isn't acceptable at Villa Park IMO - off the pitch I mean.

I expect them to get as much value out of him as they did Andy Carroll but I hope I'm wrong.

If West Ham do us over this season I'll be quoting this :whist:

Fair play to West Ham. They’ve made up some shit with issues with a medical as they don’t have the cash and everyone knows it. They clearly wanted the player and hope that by next summer they might have sold someone to make some funds to finance it. Brentford meanwhile seem to have been forced into loaning out one of their better players on the last day of the window.

I would think that every club in the country will think twice before, "doing business" with West Ham in future. Their handling of this is at best shocking at worse manipulative.

Brentford are keeling over laughing. They knew Benrahma wanted out, no point in keeping him, better to look to the future. Sales are staggered anyway so loan with a commitment to buy is almost as good, and in terms of cash over the long term probably better. They can now start the rebuild. Aim for a decent season this year and push on next.

At the start of the window everybody assumed it was Benrahma we were after. It wasn't. Watkins was the best choice.

If we don't get Barkley next summer the ideal replacement would be Buendia, hopefully in the January window. Buendia has proved he can cut it in the Prem, he can play in more than one spot too, wide right, wide left, central midfield and attacking midfield. He's also a grafter, unlike Benrahma.

I think he is too slow to hold Barkley's position for how we play, he'd be more suited to a deep playmaker with his vision and passing and getting the right balls forward, Although he would be perfect in Barkley's role if the team are parking the bus, he would be your man to unlock it.

I just think with how we play Deano really wants someone that possesses speed and strength, i think we'll end up signing him, he has height too, If we don't we'll probably keep a close eye on RLC and see how he plays for Fulham as they're quite similar but Barkley's hitting his prime now, whilst Loftus still has a couple of years left yet.

We've seen one game of Barkley, let's see what he can do tomorrow.

"An inspirational performance from Eberechi Eze ensured that Crystal Palace moved up to sixth spot as Leeds suffered a second successive 4-1 defeat"

"Eze dusted himself down after being fouled on the edge of the penalty area to curl home an exquisite free-kick via the underside of the crossbar. “He was outstanding,” said Hodgson. “The goal for me was the icing on the cake.”

Cheap too. How many times did I suggest this guy ?
But then maybe he wanted to stay in London

What did they pay for Eze in the end? I'd have gladly taken him but not as a starter.

Tonight was what he's capable of but he has no consistency yet (but few at that age do).
