The Science and Technology Thread

I've not looked deeply into this one but my guess is purely academic at this point.

But if neuro angled and funded then looking at how pathways are built originally and then spanning into rebuilding pathways and brain modelling after serious accidents/strokes etc where certain traits inevitably end up back on track.

Ergo what and how can it be sped up for recovery purposes with be the span off from the commonality findings.

All 3 for me if anyone else wants to have a stab.

Definitely improved, but we all knew that. Still a couple of things that are giveaways if you stop and think, but I wonder if they will still be true and work by the time we tick into 2027?

Hmmmmm wasn't this the con Anthropic have pulled for the last two AI PR windows.

It was told to do or find something that it could only get from a rival despite not being connected to the net and in a safe sandbox, and had to perform multiple zero day jobs to get the 'something from a rival' in the process?

But of course, it hadn't been told to do that and it comes very quickly on the back of China being accused of attempting to reverse engineer live models again - which they too denied it had been told to do given the available proof it had done it.

Is AI 'it's alive' now code for discovered espionage?

Yes indeed, what's that I smell? Oh it's bullshit.

Scientists at the University engineered E. coli bacteria to turn a type of plastic used widely in food and drink packaging – polyethylene terephthalate, or PET – into L-DOPA.

The process involves first breaking down PET waste – some 50 million tonnes of which are produced annually – into chemical building blocks of terephthalic acid.

El Dopa - the Spanish one - is a treatment for Parkinson's.

So it's doable but is it viable?

Until they answer that it's no great shakes!

A blood-filtering technique for lowering cholesterol may also remove toxic forever chemicals from the body, a new study suggests.

Might be an interesting one to follow for the geeks.
