The Ross Barkley Thread

He was brilliant for us back in the day when he first started, remember the Villa 7 - Pool 2 game. He was average the 2nd half of that season, but looks like we've got the good version atm.

He has played his way into the starting 11 for me. Quality player.
Agree - but I would like him play further forward as he does lose the ball a fair bit which could hurt us early doors. Emery allows him to play with freedom like he does with Rogers - so with with all the positives that brings there is also the risk. I’ve always thought he is a top player.

He should have come on when Ramsey went off and allowed Youri a bit more forward movements.
Ross played well and got caught on the ball a couple of times, but that is how Unai wants his midfielders to play: keep the ball, try to make something happen, and not treat it like a hot potato. It puts the willies up us, but that's how we now play.

He must be thinking - Champions league at a sellout Bayern on a Wednesday night or Luton against Plymouth. Players far and wide will be praying they get a call from Emery and the team. And to think he cost £5m - great business as well a very shrewd buy.
