I agree on the latter part but January he was still banging the Traore drum and pushing Mendes signings. We didn't sign anyone

Yep he wanted out

But he wanted sacking to get paid out first

So we as fans had to endure a public fallout until he got his wish

I think he needed the 3 nil home defeat to West Ham to seal the deal as we performed too well in previous games. Maybe to Nunos surprise

You do have to wonder exactly what Nuno knew of his chances of taking that West Ham job as we played them. Was his next job on his mind then or not?

The absolute least we know is Nuno wanted to be sacked whilst supposed to be motivating us. He also ruined the acceptance of new players to our squad

Yep. I think he will have difficulty getting another Premier League gig when people think through the implications of his involvement with Mendes and his lack of success at West Ham United. I think he will be back to Saudi Arabia.

Well, that is not what was reported by the ITKers on tother forum.

EM offered Nuno countless players in the January window but he did not want players coming in and upsetting the atmosphere around the squad, allegedly.

That was, also allegedly, the root cause of the post Leicester match, on pitch altercation between Nuno and Sherrif Fatman.
 
And all the time this was happening us fans were hoping it all gets sorted

Instead our entire season derailed. Nuno zero intention of it getting sorted

Nuno played the media and played us the fans for financial benefit

Whenever he made his mind up he wanted out it should have happened behind closed doors

But of course that would have cost him financially

He went the route to look after himself ahead of the club, his players and the fans

Whilst wanting to appear the victim

Which to be fair he pulled off very very well. He played a blinder

Not that many have seen through it all

And without doubt EM will have caused some fallout to put him in the "lets get sacked " mindset

But thats an entirely different part of the story

Genuine question. I'm not questioning that he behaved terribly, but I had always taken him saying he hoped we could sort it out at face value?

He would have only had to say it once though

He said it

We all went wtf and panicked

Then we won v Brentford and you think great now lets all shake hands and get our heads down

Then Nuno goes again to the media pushing it more

The first time he went to the media should never have happened but you could forgive a frustrated blip

If he wanted to stay from there on in it should have been sorted

What could us fans do about it that we need to know?

But he kept agitating. What could the media do to help other than to keep reporting it and make the job untenable

At the time the immediate reaction was hes trying to engineer the sack. But you hope its not true

The telling part below:

If you want to sort stuff to keep the job the first person you speak to is EM. Definitely NOT the media

Yet he goes to the media first with huge grenades

Then we get told EM is shocked by the comments and will be meeting Nuno soon to sort

We win. Theyve now met. We assume its now sorted.

But Nuno goes again.

Unless I'm mistaken thats how I remember it played out?

The rumour around the campfire was that Mendes had been sidelined for Joorabchian, who Maranakis was buying race horses with, and who is also very close to VP. Mendes players were being ignored as possible signings and Nuno, who also happened to be his longest standing client, went all kamikaze, and Mendes got him the Wham gig.

What followed was a load of Mendes signings at inflated prices into Wham.

He thought he had Maranakis by his Pepsi and Shirley's.


He was wrong.

From what has come out since his departure, I would say that Wolfs account is pretty accurate.

The stories fed to the press at the time have been found to have had very little substance, most probably circulated by Nuno and his agent.

The bust up with Edu never happened, the rejection of the Traore signing never happened, and so on and so on.

Yes, and he has had his fingers burnt in dealing with Joorbachian.

He spent upwards of 24m with KJ on Racehorses, only one of which has run, a 4.6m purchase called Poker who has run 3 times and been beaten 3 times, by some considerable distance.

None of the others have run yet, but that could be because, as 2 year olds , they are not ready.

If that was not bad enough, look at what he spent on that clown Hutchinson, a player with strong connections to KJ?

Regardless of how he turns out, we have massively overpaid for him.

At least he has a chance of breeding with the thoroughbreds and getting some money back.

Both clubs have their issues but relegating Spuds is the holy grail.

Both teams are in trouble though even if they stay up. Wet Spam have overspent and need to sell albeit nobody wants the players they want to sell. Spuds are in a similar position - substandard players on big wages with very little interest.

If we want Spuds down though, this is probably our only chance. We did our bit now we need Leeds and Everton to do theirs.

I thought Nuno only told EM he didn’t want anyone after his own suggested transfers (Mendes clients, all) were vetoed…
