I like to pronounce the l in almonds sometimes in front of other English teachers just to see how they react. It does get pretty crazy in the staff room sometimes.
 
I remember doing a search in west Belfast once and all the Light Infantry blokes we're going frantic because they could smell marzipan, a certain type of explosive smells of it. They were convinced that the boyos were planning Armagedon and making bombs galore. Until I calmly pointed out a bakery and the fact it was November and people were probably baking birthday cakes for Jesus.


Every fat bloke who watches Bake Off knows all good cakes are made well in advance.
