So 5 days into a calorie restricted diet.

Restricting myself to 1,550 calories per day as MyFitnessPal says that is what I need to do to lose 1.5lbs per week.

Also no alcohol.

And the net result 5 days in..... I've gained 1lb!

Throw in some exercise, the process works...!
 
I had porridge for breakfast and a tuna sandwich for lunch.

Probably put on a stone. :confused:

It'll work mate, the process is unquestionable, just sometimes it takes time. You might just have fluid retention, whatever, but if you keep putting in less calories than you burn, your body will turn to fat as the energy source.

If you find you remain a bit resistant, then you can always do a few days of higher protein and lower carbs to see.

But as said, main thing, throw in some exercise, stop trying to do half the job!
 
Yes Deano. If you don't want to go to a gym then may I suggest a kettlebell or similar that you can use at home.

Half an hour a day doing that will make a big difference.
