Man Utd score early against Liverpool

Good news for us- the only thing their players have to play for now is finishing 3rd above Liverpool. Win this one and they have pretty much wrapped that up

Increases the chances of their players minds being focused on the world cup and not getting injured when they play us
 
It might effectively be a dead rubber by then. 🤞

So, in other words- a big six club, probably Chelsea, are going to breach this year/ next year, they have run out of accountant cons so need protecting


Premier League moves goalposts on financial rule breach cases

The Premier League is proposing to allow clubs to negotiate settlements over alleged breaches of its financial rules rather than seeing their cases automatically referred to an independent commission.

Sky News has learnt that top-flight clubs will be asked to vote at the Premier League's annual meeting next month on the plan.

Football industry sources said the proposal was a significant one, and was aimed at simplifying and accelerating the sanctions process when clubs are charged with breaking Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

Under the PSR framework, Premier League clubs are not permitted to lose more than £105m over three years, with that figure reduced by £22m for every season a club spends outside the top flight.

In recent years, Everton and Nottingham Forest have both been hit by points deductions for PSR breaches.

Leicester City was also deducted six points in February, but that penalty was imposed by the English Football League following the Foxes' relegation from the top flight.

The points penalty contributed to Leicester's relegation to League One last month.

A source close to the situation said the rule change, if approved next month, would be implemented immediately, with the PSR regime being replaced at the start of next season.

Last November, the Premier League announced that PSR would be scrapped, with a system known as Squad Cost Ratio (SCR) and Sustainability and Systemic Resilience (SSR) introduced in its place.

The new framework is designed to work in parallel with rules overseen by UEFA, the European football governing body, and be consistent with the objectives of English football's new independent regulator.

The Premier League declined to comment on Friday

Well who'd have thought it, just more confirmation of what we've all suspected (known) for years, must the protect the big 6 at all costs because they are the clubs that drive the massive TV contracts

Chelsea have signed Alonso so it doesn't matter

With no big jobs available it would be disappointing to see Lampard abandon Coventry for a Fulham or Bournemouth

I'd genuinely want to stay at Cov. Finish what he started getting them promoted.

Chelsea are shitty proposition. They don't have a balanced squad at all. Its not really their fault, they've only had about 2 billion to spend on it.
 
Growing rumours from some pretty reliable Man City sources that Guardiola is going this summer and the announcement is probably days away.

Maresca to replace him as expected and probably one reason why he talked himself out of Chelsea. I wonder if his contract had some sort of compensation clause if he took a job, say, within 6 months of leaving?

Was always odd he left on 1st Jan exactly.

You also wonder if this points to the 115 finally being on the verge of being decided, with Pep walking before getting embroiled in what follows

One rule for them....

What gets on my tits is that we seem to vote for it. Maybe the mid level clubs and lower level clubs should actually work together and stop being like fooking sheep. At the very least explain the logic for agreeing to every fooking wheeze dreamed up by the big six to not compete even a little bit more fairly. P*******es the lot of us.

EM wants to be part of the ‘ruling elite’ so votes their way as part of trying to join the club. That’s my take on it anyway…
