The Premier League 2024-25 Thread

I’m curious on Ipswich’s level of spend already and what is to come
With a year of L1 allowance, 1 in the championship and 1 for the premier league, that total is around £50-52m? (Not sure the L1 allowance, so assuming £4m..?

Already Greaves, Delap, and Hutchinson is around £55m with no player sales

Are they in trouble for next year already?
The amount is how much you lose over the 3 seasons. A lot depends on what their profit/loss situation was over those years but they probably can’t afford many more big fees.

And those fees are amortised also so will be interesting if they add further

Risky but without that level of investment they are back down. All three purchases will be good in championship and the odds are in that favour. They have to roll the dice and hope they can stay in PL. worry about PSR next season where possibly all rules could change. Shows how the current rules really do discriminate against promoted teams.

Not a chance without investment. That side wasn’t far away from relegation and nothing has really changed.

This ‘super computer’ obviously isn’t so ‘super’…
The super computer gets better as the season goes on, but then so does what we can all see with our own eyes.

Maybe so but the start point should be last season’s table with the promoted sides taking up the bottom three.

It is then adjusted by players in and out plus any manager changes and finally by what happens during the season.

Predicting that promoted sides would finish above Forest and Wolves is bizarre. I know Everton had points deducted but so did we. On top of that Everton are currently selling players so…

Just been to get the new Forest shirt. It's alright; not as nice as last years.

But they have whacked the price up AND you now have to pay £6 if you want the Premier League badge printed

When are they officially releasing the away and third shirts? Did they say?

Chelsea have banished Connor Gallagher from the team. They were about to sell him to Atletico. Presumably he wasn't playing ball with that

Yes there is quite an interesting story behind what’s going on with him and how they also treated Chalobah. Some of their fans are really unhappy.

Gallagher isn’t against the idea of signing a new contract if offered one

Ok... Would you tell us the story?

He has been offered a contract. Twice. And on similar wages as Fernandez etc. The issue is that while they are handing out 5 and 6 year contracts, they have only offered him two years with an option that Chelsea can trigger for a third year. They are basically saying that they don’t believe he is good enough for them to offer a longer contract.

He wants to stay but he wants to feel valued too. And if he wants he can wind down his contract and Chelsea will get fuck all.

The 5 and 6 year contracts are what they are giving to new signings in the main from what I’ve seen
