I just hope we are going to restore the width from two years ago. Narrowing it last season did not work at all in my opinion. We need space for our wingers and full back.

Maybe narrowing was done as a slightly defensive, safety first measure. not knowing how tough the step up was going to be. hopefully now we have our feet under the table we can be a bit more confident and expansive with the measurements.

It was based on some statistics which suggested that a tiny number of goals are scored from the extra bit of pitch. Having decided it would therefore be redundant, they chopped it off.

But wouldn't there need to be an actual statistical *advantage* to justify chopping it off, as you put it?
