The Ollie Watkins Thread

He could have left a hero, with most people wishing him all the best after six, generally good years at the Villa.

Instead, he either listened to his agent or his wife? And then he decided that the money was too important to risk an injury against Brighton, so he basically decided to be selfish, stick two fingers up to the club and fans and ruin what legacy would have remained.

Whilst enjoying his goals, I also put up with his sulky moods and inconsistent form. Therefore, sorry, Ollie, leaving under those circumstances in our hour of need was unforgivable, and personally, that video means nothing to me.

I didn’t even bother watching it. Just seems hollow after he ditched us for a bbq last week.

Most of the outgoings are pretty sour, especially Watkins and Martinez. The irritation with Tielemans was the release clause he had inserted which showed he always wanted to move.

Can’t really complain with Konsa and Rogers as they conducted themselves well enough.
To be fair to Youri, when he joined I doubt he could have foreseen the ridiculously inflated transfer fees we've witnessed of late.

But back on topic, I wish Ollie well. Last weekend was an unfortunate blip, but at the end of the day, his contribution to our success cannot be overstated. If `i had the chance to go and work in Saudi as I was contemplating retirement and next steps, and was offered the bumper contract I imagine he's signed, I think I would go too.

Well I can’t complain about this transfer as he’s had me pulling my hair out on several occasions over the last few seasons.
At least he isn’t going to score against us for his new club, so we will soon forget all about him

That video smacks of "I've been reading this same speech for the last hour, I didn't care at the start and I care even less now" . There was no feeling, no emotion, no believability to it at all.

I'm grateful for all that he's done, it's a shame it's ended like this but his stock has plummeted.

Suppose he did us a favour, I would have lamented his loss even with Nico. Now I am delighted with Nico, far more happy than I would have been had we sold Ollie electively. He's reminded me of his age and the likelihood he may well be in decline.
