The Official John Terry Thread

bring terry in and make him our captain
terry is a winner and i dont think he would really want to go to a prem club that will not be challenging for a top spot
if i was him id much prefer to try my luck at a club like ours where we will be seen as a real contender for a top two finish and also offer him a job coaching where he can use it while obtaining his coaching badge

Yes sirdennis, I also took it as an ironic statement, it's just that lately I've been listening to a lot of idiots who have been saying the same thing and meaning it.

Ha ha !!! brilliant wind up the blues tweet by Dr X.

'Welcome JT to Birmingham City....... Aston Villa..."

:1: :1: :1: :14:

This is one transfer that i did not expect to hear the summer. Great message to send out

Cannot argue with leadership/experience/quality.

But, a lot of cash for a year. Pressure to get up is going to be immense with the amount being spent.

Just pray that he doesn't do the usual key player signs then gets injured thing that always seems to happen with us.

Welcome JT and I can assure you I have never booed you, called you a rude word or two or thought you were a disgrace for your off field antics. :3:

Hopefully this sends out a statement to other players, that if we can bring in Terry, we can attract others to the cause, not just to get back up into the Premiership but to progress onwards and become a top 6 side again. We don't want a squad full of 30 somethings, but maybe the best younger talent might see Aston Villa as a club about to rise to greater things again and would want to be a part of that.

Lol.

Me neither MD.

His ability to referee the game will be a huge advantage as well.

Can you imagine some of those referees we had last year ? They will be "Yes Mr Terry" "No Mr Terry" "Anything you say Mr Terry"

The thing is supporters of other clubs in the Championship will rightly point out that signing John Terry does not automatically mean we will be promoted, the are of course right, we do however stand a much better chance of promotion with him than without him.

Just 7 more days before we find out if JT has opted to join the Villa :4:

I hope he joins I would be gutted if he joined Albion or SHA.

I think they saw the pic of him playing golf with Bruce and got an article out of it. If he carries on playing every club outside of the top 4 in the Prem will be in for him. Unless Bruce has an extremely good relationship with him and can convince him then I can't see Terry coming here.

I do like the links we are getting though. We need experienced Premier League players to get promoted not more Championship fodder.

Great signing not only for what he offers on the pitch if he stays fit, but for his win at all costs attitude, something not seen at Villa Park in ages. Welcome.

For presence alone he's worth it. Whatever about outside of football his attitude on the pitch is what is key.

read the interview with our vital chelsea editor on the front page folks, makes for positive reading.

Personally, I can't see past that it was just Terry in a picture with Bruce at a golfing event.

After living in Bournemouth for 34 years, I would say AFC Bournemouth and the area would be ideal for him!?

Shouldn't Bournemouth be concentrating on building a proper stadium.
