The Official John Terry Thread

Lets get one thing straight, John Terry loves Chelsea FC, the club he spent all but one year of his playing career at, not Aston Villa.
In fact Terry has never claimed to love Aston Villa FC, he claimed to love his time at the club but, that is completely different.
If Chelsea were to offer him a playing contract for the rest of this season, for £20k a week, he'd sign it in a flash.

I think Terry would make a great coach for 60 k a week but to pay him 60 K at his age is stupid money and thank god the owners see this.
Don't get some of the hype so many are making on him.
Wow he's a good leader for the kids, well make him coach.
Rather pay collins and Huth till January then allow the coach, who ever that maybe, to bring a CB or 2 in
60k a week.
If he loved the club as many make out he'd take a pay cut to play.
25 K would be good pay at his age for a couple of months with a pay as you play plus clean sheet bonus.

No one is making out that Terry loves the club from what I have read.
What people are saying is that he clearly enjoyed his time with us and given the deal is right would come back. The fans took to him . All which was probably a great surprise to him as he probably thought he would never play in any colour apart from the blue of Chelsea and really enjoy it.

Really don't understand how people are taking the hump with his 'supposed' wage demands . Football wages are obscene and I am well beyond getting all moral about it because it's out of our control and I just shrug my shoulders.

Personally I'm more angry that we can't pay Terry what is required because of the wasters sitting on their contracts not contributing a thing like Fat boy Ross who are taking money from the club which could be used elsewhere . Get angry with them not a player like John Terry.

Well I thought I would bring this to the top and bump again:
Welcome back JT Very happy overall tonight with the appointments and feeling more positive.

:utv::utv::utv:

Do not think JT will ever love a club as much as he does Chelsea and I am sure he will hope to one day manage them. But if he gives us 100%
in the meantime I will be happy with that given how he conducted himself and the effect he had on the dressing room last season.

Welcome back JT - we all know what his end-game is, to manage the club he loves. And who can blame him for that? In order to achieve that he’ll have to be a success elsewhere first, and to have such a driven character willing to start as a number 2 with us should be a positive. I don’t believe this is a Roy Keane-esque ego trip - this man wants (needs?) to prove himself.

I still find it a bit surreal the way Terry has now become such an integral part of this club in such a short space of time. I have my reservations about the way they are teaming him with Smith like this but if the manager has agreed to it then it's fine with me. Maybe he can teach JT his attacking philosophy and we then have our next manager in waiting when Smith gets the Cabbage.

JT has a lot to learn and while he's finishing off getting his coaches badges, how better to learn than from a team who have done well at each place they have worked together.
He will learn about partnerships but, will be able to teach about how a top class pro needs to look after his body by eating correctly and the training needed to get into and stay in tip-top condition.

Glad to see the general warm welcome for JT coming back.

As a player, however, I'd be a bit worried if my wife or girlfriend seemed a bit warm and giggly about his return though ...

Extremely glad he is back.

Would have even took him as manager.

However, I hppe everyone can see the bleeding obvious and at this present time, Johns, Deans and our best chance of success is to put his boots back on just to get us through to January.

If he does, and we have last years defence with this years attack and an attacking management team and I dont even think Nyland could balls it up - I would predict top by Xmas.

If he don't,......... we're screwed !

Chuffed to bits he's back. The man is a born winner and was brilliant last season. I know he Chelsea through and through but so what. While he is here he will be proffesionalism personified and a great help to everyone.

I really hope not be reading a what the hell does John Terry do with them all week post before at least January.

He has a hell of a job trying to create a good defensive unit out of the mess Bruce had left. In all probability he can't. We have one specialist centre back and 2 players that might play there.
It's no different to in bringing top striker into coach a team where you are using a midfielder in attack and saying go on then make him score 20 goals a season. Won't happen will it and you would be laughed at to suggest it would work.

Keep saying it but we are stuck with a disaster defence until the transfer window in January.

Good luck JT !!
