The Official John Terry Thread

Well if it gives the club a lift, allows Villa to start the season with a solid back 4 with leadership and he is made captain too boot I aint got a problem with it.

Right now I would sell a fucking kidney to gain promotion.

That's a lot of Kidney's to give away Col particularly as we only have 2 :17:

Personally I'm disappointed if it happens but hope it works out for the benefit of the team. Smells like a trophy signing to me though.

Can't argue with that - additionally have to say that I am sick to the bottom teeth of players being worth squillions and earning millions when in fact there are very few who deserve these riches and only one who is without question deserving of whatever

Good luck arguing that there is a better player in the championship than Terry.

Outside of football he's probably a dick but he's considered a legend by so many that Grealish, McCormack, Gabby, Bacuna and so on can't continue to act like children.

We have who is considered one of the best ever premier league centre backs in our squad.

Considering it's normally the other way around, we sell a player and they win the prem it's nice to see the tide is turning.

This next reference will go over many of y'all's heads but hopefully you see where I'm coming from.

In the NFL last year, the Atlanta falcons had the sack (take the qb down) leader in Vic Beasley. The year prior he had been a total bust, talent but no mental capacity to know when to use it. Last season they brought in Dwight Freeny a hall of fame player when done. He was on a decent contract and his impact was somewhere in the middle of the squad.

However, he gets all credit for Beasley turning into the lead sacker in the NFL. Beasley is the first to say he taught him so much and mentored him.

That's what we have to hope so. The players around him need to step up. Baker, Richards, Bree, Taylor, Chester and whoever is in goal needs to listen to everything he has to say about defending. No one on our squad can dare to say their opinion is more correct than his about football.

If he turns the ones on the fence into players, inspires Hogan, Green and Grealish to blossom. He is worth every penny.

Also a huge point to show Terry deserves credit. He could of taken a big money marketing deal in either USA or China but he's picked the longest and hardest league he could. He's made a footballing choice.

If he's to become a manager after this it's a very smart move too. He's been managed by some of the worlds best and know their style. But not someone from his own country who played like he did. Bruce will teach him a ton on how to run a club.

For whoever else we sign, no one will have a mental impact anywhere near Terry.

How the helll can we argue that JT isn't good enough for us? I don't care if he's a nice person or not, let's face it McGrath was a washed up drunk and is now a folklore hero to us now. We are a mid table Championship team and a player like Terry decides to come to us. C'mon guys, get a grip.

If Terry were to sign , it would be a massive boost to us , whatever you think of the blokes antics off the pitch (zero respect from me) you can't knock what he has done on the pitch .

Bound to be able to chip in with a few goals as well.

A trophy, whats that?

Stolen the march on a club who's owner is currently in jail for money laundering.
A club whos highest attendance was just over our lowest of the season and who managed an average of 18,770 across the season...

Harry Redknob will realise after a few weeks what a pile of shit he has taken over, If he is still there next season I will be amazed.

I think we should stick it out with Calderwood, a footballing inspiration. :17:

Well I for one could cope with Chester and Terry at the back with Jedinak screening them. We wouldn't be conceding many and it would give a great platform for the others to bomb forward.

Watch Chelsea with Terry and Lampard, opposition get a corner and Terry sorts the back whilst Lampard sorts the secondary defence. Each takes responsibility for their areas.

I will see if I can find a clip, our current back line would learn so much from him......

Don't disagree but in no particular order surely these are more likely?

1- USA
2- Premier league - anyone that isnt a threat to Chelsea i:e outside top 7
3- China

Alot of fuss created over a chuffing holiday photo in my humble

There was a photo in the paper today of Wes Brown on holiday with Wayne Rooney. I take it that means Rooney is off to Blackburn! :21:

Well if its going to be John Terry and new kit whats the betting it will be Monday lolol

You'd think so but it all depends really.

USA or China is just for money, I'm pretty sure he's alright in that department. A team outside the top 7 in the Premier League? After the career he's had it would be a bit of limp way to go out surely? Either nothing much to play for or fighting relegation.

Joining Villa in the Championship would at least be an interesting project with a viable aim and to the chance to achieve or even win something.

These are of course all just hypotheticals and trying to get inside the head of a player who's won the lot and might be looking for one more interesting challenge.

Then again, finishing 17th with Bournemouth or whoever might be seen as an achievement to him, so who knows...

Harry will be dismayed at this paper talk and have words - you don't want to go to the Villa do ya? Go down to Bournemouth, I know some nice gaffs down there, you'll be sorted down there.
Does Gabby play golf - hope not.

I think that this would be a good signing if it were to happen. JT still has a good reading of the game and would bring the likes of Baker and Chester on as well. He would score a few from set pieces and would probably bring an extra 10-15 points to the overall tally and that might just get us over the line.

Plus it would rub Saggy Face's nose in the crap and really piss off the great unwashed when they finally realise that they are not a club big enough to sign top class players - they still bleat on about Dugarry and they would go into orgasmic raptures if they were to get JT.
