The Official John Terry Thread

Well if it gives the club a lift, allows Villa to start the season with a solid back 4 with leadership and he is made captain too boot I aint got a problem with it.

Right now I would sell a fucking kidney to gain promotion.

A month ago I wouldn't have wanted him, but as it's become more of a reality I think it would be a good bit of business for us. Even if he is past it, the leadership and experience would be invaluable and some of the other players would hopefully give a bit extra when they are training alongside a former England captain and winner of pretty much every major club trophy available

If doable and not stupid money - if you can define stupid money thesedays - a risk worth taking. Whatever anyone thinks of the man, if his attitude in training and to the game itself can be passed to our youngsters, alone that could be worthwhile in my humble.

All over SSN now. Next 24 hrs.

Article footnoted by Redknapp admitting defeat in trying to sign him.
Don't know what i am more pleased about, signing Terry or beating the obsessed and blues to it.

Cue, said knob head fans saying 'its too much money, he is passed it, didnt want him anyway' etc. My baggie dad said last week Terry was too old to sign . Ok, ok whatever you say.

Any club, bottom half of prem or in championship would love to have Terry sign. FACT.

I can see him going to LA or NY or China for mega bucks

The Chinese FA not have a hefty tax on foreign players joining the Chinese Premier League, don't be surprised to see the number of players turning up over there slow down dramatically over this transfer window.

i think harry wants him to try and show that blues wont be in our shadow . and they can steal a player we want .and if they do get him it will be a massive two fingers up to us . and that may play on the players minds in the derby games

If they got Christian Ronaldo they would still be a bag of shit.

What's the betting they get a few players off "West Ham init" during the transfer window.

Can't believe this is going to happen, what a coup! :94:

We may only get a year out of him on the pitch (if even), but it's everything else he can bring to the club. The other players should be in awe of him and be inspired.

Also the fact he chose us over a lot of other offers from around the world is great PR for the Villa. Maybe it will affect other transfer targets view of Villa and give us more appeal.

Of course beating the likes of Small Heath and the Tesco bags to him is just the icing on the cake!

The only way he'd be tempted would be as player / manager, which won't be happening .
He's going to Bournemouth as is his mate Begovic
