The Official IRB RUGBY WORLD CUP thread

Pride of Lions

I am now official
This coming Friday, 18th September sees the kick off of the IRB 2015 Rugby World Cup.

The opening match sees England take on Fiji with an 8pm kick-off in Pool A. Should be an interesting World Cup, we may get an upset during the course of the competition too.

Not really a Rugby fan but will be watching some of it. Did I read somewhere they will be bringing that funny shaped ball to VP and ruining our pitch.

Nor me either, however Mr KK is, cos he is Welsh and rugby always comes first so I will know what's going on

I hope that one of the Northern Hemisphere teams (preferably Ireland!) win the competition but it's hard to see beyond New Zealand.

Love international rugby and it's pretty clear England will win and won't even concede a single try against them.

Starting with unshakeable confidence.... as one should !!!!!!!!!!!

:17:

I know nothing about rugby, but c'mon on Ireland! (don't even know any of the players)

Which games are at Villa Park? I'll watch them just to see Villa Park

South Africa v Samoa Sat 26th Sep 16.45
Australia v Uruguay Sun 27th Sep 12.00

Pretty sure we're going to win this tournament, in fact I am so adamant that I have bet my left little finger on it with this nice guy I met in the pub last night called Hell Dog McCready.

I have just been on the official site to check on tickets for the 2 games at VP. None left, so went on viagogo and the cheapest one for the Sat game SA v Samoa is £100 and on the Sun Aus v Uraquay there is one ticket available at £65 and then they climb £10 at a time. Good thing I am not too interested so happy to go give them a miss.

Don't be hard on yourself. I'm impressed that you can see New Zealand from Chorley.

You simply can't lose when you bet with reliable people like that thefacehead!

One of his eyes was looking at me when we made the bet, I'm sure he's genuine enough, he also lent me £500 to make the bet, what a nice guy :17:

HAHA got to love Harry aint ya wearing a few grands worth of suit and still looks like a paraffin.

Good win by England. Obviously not seen the match yet, but at least they've put down a marker for the rest of the competition.

I watched the highlights good start really hope we can win this,

Well, I have to be honest here - I was at the top of Helvellyn at the time.

Stunning win from Japan, brilliant finish to the game, very tense and exciting, this WC is off to a flyer.
