The Official Here We Go Again Takeover Thread

If Xia really doesn't have any money and needs to sell the crown jewels then a takeover could only be a good thing.

Or does FFP mean that any potential buyer wouldn't be able to spend and still have to sell players anyway?

FFP confuses me. Surely an owner should be able to gift his club money if it's not a loan?

Nothing to see here as far as I am concerned - press talk to get the clicks or fill the column inches. Wyness said we have planned for all possibilities this season and why is there any reason to doubt him?

The only thing we know for sure is that JT has done one and the loanees have gone back, unlikely to ever return. Apart from that, naff all has happened.

Normally if there is something Dr. Tone doesn't agree with in a national newspaper then he uses Twitter as a platform to slap down rumors about most things however as yet, nothing?

From now on until anything is officially confirmed by the club itself I will choose to ignore it for my own peace of mind:contract:

Does look fishy. Thinking the same thing. We need a cryptic tweet to send us into meltdown.

Once this type of talk starts then you can be pretty sure that this guy wants out it doesn't come out of nowhere. He will probably come out and deny it but I don't believe a word he says. ReCON artists will leave this club in a mess mark my words.

The above posts just demonstrate how rumours can have an effect. There isn't a shred of evidence that Dr Tony wants to sell and until we hear something official , I think it's best to ignore anything that's in the papers.

It may be more than clickbait. Simon Jordan's bit on TalkSport last week was cryptic and he said he had to be careful what he said because of what he knows. Paul Senior was at Palace with him so there's a tentative link! Probably all cobblers.

:stupid:

Has all the hallmarks of journo stirring for click-bait. Don't fall for it.

Who knows if it is true or not, I wouldn’t go too overboard with anything I read in the sun, but I think it’s worrying signs if nothing else. I think we all worried when Xia was announced about who he really was and what his intentions were. As soon as it gets tough there are rumours he wants out which is not good at all. If he does sell us i don’t trust him to sell up to someone better, either

My view is this.

Xia bought us at a very knockdown price. There's no secret in the fact that he was interested in other clubs until he found out that we were available. All of a sudden he's a fan with endless funds that's going to throw money at us until we became the biggest club in Europe if not the world.

If he had succeeded then his investment would have paid off handsomely and would have made him a genuine billionaire.

Now we all know that this was an impossible task especially the timescale he claimed to be able to achieve this.

Fast forward to now. We are still in the Championship, we will be weaker squad wise, we will have less money coming in. Even if he has money he can't put any more in due to FFP. The longer it takes to get out of this league the bigger the gap to the top Premier League teams gets.

If he is a billionaire he can simply keep it in his portfolio of companies, make it self sufficient with little input of his own money and leave it to his team of Wyness, Round and Bruce to keep it going and at least keep it's asset value at what it is on his books.

Now on the other foot, what if he is potless and needs cash. It appears the news on his other companies doesn't look to be good. They appear to be making sizable losses and hemorrhaging cash at an alarming rate.

In this case what would he do. Obviously if he needs cash then he has to sell something. For all we know he could have put all his companies including AVFC up for sale to see which he can sell the most quickly.

My view is that he has fallen on hard times and had gambled on his 3 year plan for us to work, which failed. I still believe that he would have sold us for a handsome profit should we have been promoted. Either way I don't thing he was here for the long term and the stories about us being on the market don't surprise me one bit.

Let's just hope he doesn't start to asset strip the club to get some cash rolling in.

Truth probably falls somewhere between the two. A group of business men probably would like to take over Aston Villa whether or not Doc wants to sell thats something else again. But I do not like the talk of making us a sustainable entity thats smacks of the stories are true China will not allow me to invest more money in the project, or I wont invest more.
