To put it in perspective, even Pep gets it wrong sometimes. Sometimes massively so! In Dean's case in spite of the odd possible mistake the trajectory over the season has, with us, always been upwards.
Smith out 2 Smith in 7.Constant upward curve and we have to hope we see another few notches next season as well as it means we'll all be smiling again.
Home or away BB?I've heard the same things from my mates. They obviously didn't watch the Palace game.

Sums up where we are right now. A work in progress but excellent overall. The recent one. I think it was away.

The first 25 mins of the Palace away game we were magical, then something happened and we turned into a pub team
Yes those two wins indeed did change the mood, perhaps even saved Deans jobNot this year, which was a worry - for all of us, surely - but then the last two wins put the momentum going into the summer, back into the positive vibe and it does make a difference all round.
Woy changed tactics, DS couldn't/didn't know how to respond..... nuff said.
Funny old game innitYes same as Deano's tactical masterclass v Palace at Villa Park , where we wiped the floor with them after going down to 10 men and Hodgson was powerless to respond.

Strange that after 25/30 mins the opposition managers sussed us and tweaked their game. Two games to learn from, perhaps realise the opposition have changed the system and adust our own game to retain the lead. Like we did at Leeds , got in front early then made them work and not get into the basketball game these sides like.A La Burnley

Bloody changed it against us enough times when we were beating them and they'd come back to win time after timeFerguson never changed the game against anyone. He had belief in his system. Made subs yes, but he had the players for him to do that.
Damned if you do, damned if you don't - and we'll never know if changing the system would have worked out differently. I think as we get more quality in the squad, there will be more scope to make subs (earlier) to influence the game, but I think you're correct McP, managers generally have unshakeable belief in their system and must believe that it's down to the players execution.Ferguson never changed the game against anyone. So Ancelotti off to Real....finished 1 place above Villa.Makes me more happy to have a Villa fan as manager.
Think the squad were badgering Bobby to go to a back 3Damned if you do, damned if you don't - and we'll never know if changing the system would have worked out differently. Italia 90, Bobby Robson was forced into a back 3 for some reason that I can't remember and that worked out fine, but it wasn't by choice.

What's the betting we finish above them next season?
