The Official Aston Villa V Brighton Match Thread.

Last game of yet another season I'm personally glad to see the back of.

I'm flying over for a long weekend going to the game and looking forward to seeing a team play a good direct style of football, closing down as if their lives depended on it and display an 110% mentality to win the game for their fans, manager and themselves because who can be content with mediocrity?

Unfortunately, it will probably be Brighton displaying all of the above but I live in hope!?

Thoughts and predictions here folks.

Up The Villa :94:

What I am hoping will happen is Bruce and Wyness rips them a new backside this week, fines them a weeks wages which helps to refund the 6000 fans, they go out and tear Brighton apart , winning 4 - 0 , letting us go home with massive optimism for next season, and then finding out Newc lost so Brighton won anyway...........

What I fully expect to happen is tge players will walk round as if tgey dont give a toss, Brighton rip us a new backside and we will all go home in a foul mood.

What I want 4-0 win
What I expect - 3-0 loss

Option one please mate!?

We looked at this fixture earlier in the season and were hoping that Brighton wouldn't need to win by the time it came around. Now, the shoe is on the other foot. They need a win and we don't. I expect the result will go accordingly.

i don`t think going up as Champions will matter as much to Brighton as some people think. They`ve done all the hard work and they`re up.They`ve peaked so to speak and I think they`ll find it very difficult to raise their game again.
We have absolutely nothing to play for,and even when we do have something to play for,we`re not that good,so my prediction would be a 1-1 game.
I hope not,but i expect a pretty boring,uneventful match.
Get it over and done with and Mr.Bruce can get on with bringing some quality players in because this lot wont get us promoted next season.

This fixture was obviously put last as the League expected it to be a 'winner takes all' title/promotion decider :3:

Brighton were pretty ordinary against Bristol City the other day when a win would have given them the title in front of their long-suffering fans. Not sure how they cocked that one up?

Anyway, we are shite, they are better and so I expect them to win at a canter.

2- or 3-0 Brighton.

I'd really like for the Codger to get his 20th goal of the season here.
I'd really like us to win.
I'd really like to win the Lotto.
I don't actually do the Lotto but reckon I've more chance of being a multi-millionaire after the next draw than seeing either of the other two happen.

I'll be there and I expect the full bollocks from our team, but after they saw our own fans wanting them to lose on Saturday you hardly blame them for turning out half arsed.

I expect Bruce to go back to try not to concede, and rely on his favourite "stalwarts" with just a token youngster or two on the bench. With no Jedinak this won't work and with no Kodjia we won't score, unless Grealish does make the team and produces one of his wonder shots.

Brighton will come here expecting us to fall over. If we have a go at them we could surprise them. We won't. We'll fall over.

0-2 to them. They won't bother scoring more; that'll do it for them.

Bruce will just go his usual do not lose at all costs, rely on our stout defence, we won't have our 20 goal threat and it will all go tits up. Oh and most people will say give SB time, sure .... but the clock is ticking

I hope I am wrong and he plays Bree,Green,Lyden

I don't know. But I bet SB will give Grealish, Agbonlahor another run out. He is starting [?] to make me sick.

Brighton want the title, hughton wants to get one over on Newcastle and we're just plain shit so it's a bad loss I'm afraid.
Another season I'm glad is over. I can think of few games I've actually enjoyed watching. Rotherham was fun, before we realised they were the whipping boys. Cardiff was pretty good as well but other than that its all been grey. And that's down to us, the dullest team in the championship.

My mate, who lives in Dorset, is up for this one. He is a naturally miserable bastard who would only be pleased if we played like Barcelona and doesn't think we've had a decent team since Mortimer and Cowans ran our midfield. I think his prejudices might be confirmed.
