The National league...

Yes they were, just listened to Phil Parkinson moaning about the ref thought Wrexham got the better of the decisions, and so did the pundits.

Wow, what a game that was - the lead changed five times ! Can`t remember such an entertaining play-off game and whilst I started the game a neutral, by half time I was willing Grimmo to win. What, with the dodgy pen awarded to Wrexham and then the clear Maradona goal by Mullins, I was hoping that Grimmo would win through - and they did . Well done them !!! Some of the finishing, in terms of goals scored was superb - the National League has plenty of scoring talent in it !

So York City return to the National league because they won the National league North play-offs, which I'm quite pleased about.
But spare a thought for Brackley Town, who finished 21 points above them in 2nd place. Rules are rules but seems somehow unfair on them.
Somehow can't feel sorry for Brackley as they've humiliated us twice.

After two remarkable comeback wins in less than a week Grimmo will have high confidence for next week's Final v Chesterfield or Solihull. Chesterfield lost their best player during the win over Halifax. Solihull is another of the new little but rich clubs. Hope Chesterfield win tomorrow but suspect it might be Solihull that face Grimmo. Travel-wise I'm hoping that Chesterfield come up, it's a good away venue for GFC.

We had him on loan in the 16/17 season it seems.

2-1 to Solihull now.

Yep, we had Quigley on loan for a while. He failed to impress IIRC. Callum Reilly came on for Solihull - he played for us too.

So it`s Solihull who will play Grimsby for a place in L2 next season (Moors won 3-1 over the Spirerites). I shall be hoping that Grimsby win that game - Solihull`s ground looks really naff - especially for away fans. Grimmo is better and their fish & chips are excellent !!! Come on Grimmo !

I agree with you about wanting Grimsby. I think Solihull have to be favourites now, play some nice stuff at times but pretty much just stuck to doing the basics well in the second half. If Grimsby don’t improve their defending from yesterday (particularly set pieces) Moors will score about 5 themselves.

Grimsby, a proper footie club with traditions

Either would be good. A new ground, or top fish and chips before they become unaffordable. We can't lose.

Neil Ardley's Solihull's manager, ex Wombles and Notts County manager so has some experience of the football league.
