There was actually a Frank PAYNE, a goalie in 1949-50, who moved to Kippax Legionaires.

Earlier still was a Hedley VICKERS who played as an amateur in the late 1890s, a local lad who became a doctor.

Phil O'Connor - a right winger who had a brief spell with the club in (without checking) either the 1973/74 or 1974/75 season.

Geoff Anderson was another right winger who played in the 1966/67 season.

Alan Walker, 1980s centre half and Justin Walker (early 2000s) makes two of them.

I think Darren Chapman (Ellis's dad) made a brief appearance in the first team.

Surely you remember the two Chapman brothers Charles and Frank who played for us in our first FA Cup campaign vs Grimsby on Jan 3rd 1885? Two Cambridge University educated schoolmasters we 'borrowed' from Horncastle just for this match. Charles played Rugby Union for England whilst Frank fathered A.P.F. Chapman , a future England cricket captain.

At least three more Andersons have played for us :
Geoff 1966 (45 games)
Robert 1930/31 (28 games)
Nicky 1989 (1 game)

Don't ask me how I remember this stuff!

We had a Gareth Grant on loan at one point i think?
On loan from Bradford in February 2001, made 4 appearances (1 goal in a 4-1 win over Chesterfield in the Leyland Daf Johnstones Paint Sherpa Van Trophy). We lost the three league games he appeared in.

We also had goalkeeper Aidan Grant, who kept the bench beautifully warm for two years in the Conference.
