Hopefully Kalinic will be in for QPR game on New Years day. Only seen him play a couple of times but he has a far better pedigree than any of the other keepers on our books. Moreira will surely be sent back now freeing up space for another loanee if needed.

Looks like they have been tracking him for a few weeks. That would also infer that Smith didn't fancy Nyland from day 1.

So Smith is as smart as all of us here on VV.....
I know he was linked when Garde was here, but it's hard to see a "continued pursuit" by the club since then, seeing as we've had two new owners, four managers and sacked the entire scouting staff since that time.....this bodes well as clearly he has been watched and identified by the new people at the club and isn't just a sentimental follow-up....

He was in goal for Croatia in the game against England in the UEFA Nations League recently.

Just watched the highlights on Youtube. Still none the wiser.

I'm sure he's a good keeper and far better than anything we have.
 
I know very little about him however he has immediate pedigree by the sounds of it Nyland would take years to develop if at all.

We need to be selfish, this is a great signing on paper.

I watched the game live and watched him as closely as you can on TV as I remembered we nearly signed him a couple of years ago. He looked pretty solid, and to be fair, Croatia are no mugs so if he's been chosen to succeed Subašić, he must be 'there or thereabouts' :lol:
