The lovely Steve Evans...

He must have already been given a fat player transfer budget.

Not sure about "the fat player transfer budget" but probably more a case of a fat food catering budget.

Jack Baldwin being one. We nearly signed him from Faversham before he went to Hartlepool then Posh. He would definitely be worth signing.

Reading comments from Evans it appears the Chairman plus no doubt Barry Fry has made the decision on most of the players listed

I heard they do this every year. Open and honest with players they dont want here. I guess it puts them in a tough situation if those players don't find a club though and they've already basically told them they're not wanted.

I think that Evans has had his day, managerially.

His style of screaming at his players (and everyone else) for ninety minutes is not so effective these days.
Any one remember how the Crawley players celebrated when he left.

The amount of players that he went through at Rotherham was unbelievable, and given that the Posh chairman thinks they have a divine right to win the league, I'd reckon that he'll get one full season.
If no promotion again, he'll be gone.
with posh finishing 9th and the fact that he was bought in to get them up, his days are numbered in my opinion.
Unless he gets off to a flyer, the fans will turn as the majority didn't want him there.
I believe the Posh finished lower than when he took them over.

Posh have not achieved over a number of seasons; if they're happy with Evans, he'll get a budget.

Posh have achieved what over a number of seasons Wayne ?

A couple of seasons in the Championship, the same as us.
Actually, not the same as us as we were there longer and finished higher.

Posh's great claim to fame is buying lower league players for zilch and selling them for a fortune.
On that, the outstrip us tremendously.

I don't doubt that Evans will get the budget, but with the teams coming down having far bigger, I'd question his management style to getting promotion.
We'll only know for sure this time next year.

I've corrected my post - sorry

Steve Evans for me is a bit like a Martin Allen to the extent he will go in, stir things up to get a short term reaction and then see it start to fall apart after the first year when people start to get fed up with all the outlandish behaviour.

That's not what a Mansfield supporting friend of mine thinks. He said he worked wonders with the Stags and then up and left but that's Evans' way. In essence, we don't know what will happen at Posh.
