The laugh at Sheffield United thread

Best not laugh too much until after we have played & hopefully beaten them
I think its more a case of no one can stand those knuckle dragging tossers.
I'm sure the chants of scab, scab, scab by some snotty nosed 18 year old will great to hear again, from someone who doesn't even have a feckin clue why.

Horrible club.
AND Sean Bean can fuck off annall.

Our promotion should have been a joyous occasion and something to look forward too but instead we have become not only the laughing stock of the Premier League we have become the laughing stock of English football as a whole.

Selling Sander to a Premier league relegation rival is the most criminal transfer I can ever recall and the timing of it is a complete and utter insult to every single fan that has forked out for a season ticket

Calm down, disappointing that N'Diaye wanted to leave but Berge isn't all that, he can't tackle, he can't head a ball, he can't shoot, he gets dispossessed easily and he's as nesh as they come, don't want anybody here that doesn't want to be here and if he's choosing Burnley over us that tells you all you need to know about him. Also the Premier League isn't the be all and end all it's overated, not arsed if we came straight back down as Championship far more enjoyable

Even if we managed to get 4 players in ASAP - we are weeks behind everyone else in getting them embedded into our system and philosophy. It's absolutely bonkers

We are about to have the type of season that ruins clubs and players.

Just sucks that for the next 40 odd weeks
We’ve got NOTHING to look forward to. No chance of getting results, no chance of picking up points. Just an inevitable grim defeat. It’s the covid season all over again.
Would genuinely have rather not got promoted and lost the players. Instead of this kick in the face after kick in the face.

Berge isn't the greatest midfielder we've ever had but is Premier League level and several levels above the guys alongside him.
There was one guy on the field on Saturday for us who has a fabulous attitude and work rate but whose name on the team sheet makes me despair [he's talking about Ben Osborn]

Well as I was walking out of the ground on Saturday, I consoled myself that at least we’ve still got Berg.
He was head and shoulders above anything else we had on the pitch, and a glimmer of hope for us, in these dark times.
Only an idiot with no feeling for the club or it’s supporters, could sell him, I thought.
Surely it would be an inconceivable, act of sabotage and self-harm to sell N’diaye and Berg only days before we start our return to the Prem. And then, it happened…….
Season over before it’s started, and who knows, who will be next, in the fire sale.
Please someone rescue us from this charlatan, who is ruining our football club.

I'm Mr Brightside but fuck me this is serious.

Wow, we do have a depressing fan base at times, complaining about selling 2 players who might have ended up walking away for free next summer. Claiming that we are going to be the laughing stock of the premier league because Ndiaye left when other teams have let their star players go without signing anyone to replace them. [He goes on to cite West Ham and Declan Rice as his example]

This is the Sheffield United team that won promotion.

The key players were Doyle, McAtee, Ndiaye, Berge and Ahmedhodzic.

Of those, Doyle and McAtee were on loan and have returned. Ndiaye and Berge have been sold.

Their midfield now looks like this, without Berge

Important for us- they may go on to have the best three weeks of the window that anyone has ever had, but the reality is they won't have replacements both in and bedded down before they play us at the CG. That is the must win of must win games this season.

Sheffield United are likely to be on their arse this season but they are definitely going to be even more on their arse in that game. We cannot pass up the opportunity for three points

Sheffield United are a long way from being the most hateable team in this division (despite the "we hate Sheffield United" song). I much prefer them to, say, Burnley (who have horrible, hostile, racist fans) or Brentford, who are nonentities.

In fact, I have been at this fixture several times, both at City Ground and Bramall Lane to see this fixture, including both legs of the play- off semis. It is a match that always brings drama and entertainment. I quite like it when Forest play them, and I think they are a proper club, with a proper stadium, based in the city centre and with enthusiastic supporters. It is for that reason that there is always an enjoyable atmosphere, and though the chants of "scab" are a bit wearing, it is still better than some of the rubbish that gets chanted.
Remember that when Forest play Sheffield United in August, this will the first time this fixture has been in the Premier League since Clough's last game and Forest's relegation, where Sheffield United fans joined in the homage to Brian Clough, and the "Brian Clough is a football genius" songs.

That said, I obviously want Forest to put loads of goals past them, and agree that them getting to 12 points but few more ought to be the most amusing outcome.
