The last time we won 7 on the trot (or even 6 on the trot) was in the 1989-90 season!!!! 28 years!!!

Not a lot of people know that.

(not sure a lot of people care! :17: )

Fecking ell though, was that 28 years ago?

A song written by Prince, of course.

He also wrote Manic Monday as released by The Bangles. But I'm sure you all knew that.

I was then 28, at the time, which is the same time it has taken us to win 6 on the trot since

I was 15 and just discovering the Littlewoods catalogue :4: :12:

:19:

I was 14 and had discovered a great poster of Kylie in Smash Hits. :12:

I was 28 years younger than I am now but with a much more mature outlook on life.

Jesus ! That's pre Achtung Baby !
My Nan was still alive
So was Freddie Mercury

Come on Bruce smash the record to pieces

Can somebody tweet Wyness and Dr Tone and ask that the players run out to this?

I was 6 and getting hammered in the local.

No seriously, 2 girls kept feeding me sips of their wine(?) and I ended up puking all over the carpet. Back when pubs had carpets.

Errr pubs still have carpets where I live (Axminster)

Bobby Robson was England manager
Gazza was in his prime

lol I know Silhill, I was in one the other day having lunch with my mam. But I generally see more wooden floors these days than carpets.

Also I remember going to see Batman in the cinema around that time.

Er ... actually that was 7 on the trot in League Division One [the proper PL]. Started with a very happy xmas 3-0 against Manure on 26/12/89 and finished with a 2-0 at Spuds on 21/02/90 ..... However, although it was 7 on the spin the league, it was interspersed with a draw in the FAC to Blackburn and 2 defeats to Boro in the all important Zenith Cup. Still ... no denying 7 in the proper league.
Of course going back a little we have the 7 wins on the trot in the Championship year 80-81, starting with a 2-0 win at home to 'Pool on 10/01/81.
Finally .. in my time, there were the magnificent unbelievable 8 wins on the trot, all in the old second division in 1974/75 ...... won the the last 8 league games to get promoted. I was at every single one of those games and it was just so incredibly brilliant. I will never ever forget it, only a 0-1 defeat at Orient prevented an 11 win sequence. Those games at Millwall, Blackpool, Sheff Wed & Norwich were just high octane, stupendous, momentous and on one occasion life threatening.
