I get there would be an opportunity cost associated with his wages but who should we be signing instead?

I keep hearing how he has been terrible for 3 seasons but he scored 8 goals and assisted 6 in 23 league games for Bayern and scored 3 goals in the Champions League so he didn't actually do badly there at all.

We can play the youngsters and finish 14th but that won't go down well with a lot of people...

I'm happy to take the apparent risk on a current Brazilian international with over 60 caps who has played for Barca, Bayern, Liverpool and Inter.

Don't get me wrong, I'd still be very excited if we signed Coutinho. It would increase our attractiveness for other players and lift the other first teamers already here. Would love to simply watch him ply his trade in a Villa shirt.

If we do sign Coutinho and he's still got the desire to get back to his best, imagine him,a hopefully energised and fully functional Buendia alongside either Watkins or Ings. They could score for fun,hell even Keinan ( if he wasn't on loan) would bag a hatful.

Im amazed after the crap we have had to watch for years, now thankfully improving. Some dont want to see Coutinho playing in a Villa shirt. I cant wait if it happens.

Yep we can't sign players in priority order we have to sign the ones we can get when they are available, I'm sure we'll bring in another CB and LB as well unless Dom Revan is the answer I'm sure we will

The reality is that January is a hard time to buy so you have to take what you can get.
