The Happy Christmas Thread

The Fear

A Wise Man (once sat next to him)
So...

What you up to then!?

:51:

Still say it would be great if shops didn't decorate until the 1st week in Dec (at the earliest) . Would make it more exciting surely? It's been killed really by the time it comes along as the shops are done by October. They could sell their stuff without all the decorations for 3 months surely!?

Ha! I'm sure I'm right (a rare thing I realise) that the whole thing would be so much more fun if it was 2-3 weeks build up.

Others that love Christmas, thoughts?!

And what you folks planning?!

Blimey JF. I was surprised to see you had started the Christmas thread :51: :51: :51:

I never liked Christmas very much until I had my kids. It really is magical to see it through their eyes, however, so now I get a little frisson of excitement when I first see the decorations going up.

I will say that the Birmingham German Christmas market is on the list of "favorite Christmas-time-esque celebrations." What a great time that was!

I like xmas but agree it's too much now, with decorations and shops starting in October/November.

Really looking forward to this year though as Buddy is now at the right age to really enjoy it.

And he fell for the dummy fairy a few weeks back so i know he's dumb enough to fall for Father Xmas too.

My mates kid, right from an early age, was having none of it. Just wouldn't believe in Father xmas lol

I'm quite festive already this year.

A tradition started many years ago after mom passed to sat thank you to their best mates for all the help they have when mom past. Its stayed as a tradition now

Then the weekend after it's Christmas which we are at the eldest for with DiL family

New Year: Wales to hubby family

Then we go again with 2018

We used to put up the decorations the week we broke up from school, so a week before Xmas. Can't understand why anyone would put anything up so early that by the time Xmas is there, you are so 'over' the decorations. It's not exciting at all that way!

Mrs Melon and junior 2 came home from the shops today with an advent calender.

For the dog.

The misses: "Can we bring the date we put the Christmas tree up forward?"

Me: "From 1 December? No we F*&£ing can't"

I've literally had to negotiate the start of Christmas in my house to avoid a July Christmas tree launch.

1 Dec is the start of Christmas by the way - negotiated in 2008
