The Greed League

The Fear

A Wise Man (once sat next to him)
Interesting take on the greed in football and the current discussion about players not being put on
Quite good on the players being accused of being greedy:

furlough but non playing staff (who can ill afford it) are.

I know it focusses on the PL but still a good read

He’s a really interesting person, very self-effacing and kind. He has given away all of his £200,000-per-month wages for about three years now, donating it to various charities and investing in projects, anonymously where possible. His position is that Premier League footballers are massively overpaid and that something needs to be done about it, preferably a radical wage cap. He’s very critical of the people in football, from agents to club owners and directors, and “all the flies that circle around the shit”, almost all of whom he says are “horrible greedy bastards”.

Having read the article I contest the "whataboutery" charge. This is always about footballers because they are mainly working class lads come good.
What about the bankers and all the other super rich who are barely being looked at.

Agree Des. Time for those who have a huge personal wealth made from business to give back. Don’t like Lineker because he opens his mouth sometimes when he shouldn’t but respect as his given 2 months net pay so no loss of tax income for the gov.

Spot on. One of the wealthiest in this country actually asked for a bail out to help him pay wages. He's only worth billions.

Yes, agree, not just footballers, all of them. We should all now see, with this virus having no respect for wealth or status, we are all in this together.

Focus is probably on them because of the idiotic actions of Grealish and more recently Kyle Walker, plus clubs putting non playing staff on furlough and not their precious players! It doesn't help. Nice to see pressure was enough for Liverpool to change their minds at least.
