The Glasgow Commonwealth Games

SKEGGY

Bringer Of The Seasons
A thread to discuss the Glaswegian Games.

I'm looking forward to them, even the obscure sports such as crown green bowling.

Yeah, looking forward to it. But I give the opening ceremony a wide birth, I'm not interested in that... I find it boring, but bring on the competition, definitely.....

My sister went to the opening ceremony. She wanted me to watch it on TV but I couldn't be arsed.

The women's triathlon was an enjoyable view at points.

Now I'm knackered after watching the Brownlee brothers and I was only sitting here.

Coverage on BBC1 tomorrow starts at 9 am and finishes at 11:55pm, only interrupted by the news and lottery for about an hour combined in the entire day. Do they not realise that some people aren't interested? Not that I plan on watching TV all day, but still, 1 thing taking up 14 hours in 1 day on one channel?

I've watched most of the first few days sport. The reception of the home countries athletes has been fantastic. Obviously the Scots are getting the biggest cheers etc but the English, Welsh and Northern Irish competitors have been very well received by the Glasgow crowds.

Any truth in the rumour that the Glasgow marathon is 500 miles and then 500 more?

Another good day at the Games today.

The star of the day has to be 13 year old Errid Davies the bronze medal swimming medallist for Scotland. 13 years old!......
