The FA, Mackay & Wigan - total incompetance?

Whilst Wigan chairman Dave Whelan seems to have finally learnt the lesson that when you are in a hole the best policy is to stop digging, it has been bugging me ever since this latest act in the continuing saga has unfolded that the FA seem to be totally incompetant in their involvement.

Mackay was sacked by Cardiff in late December 2013 in respect of transfer 'irregularities'. The law firm appointed by Cardiff City FC to investigate the deals involved gained access to Mackay's computer and phone and in doing so uncovered many, many thousands of texts and emails which led to them being reported to the FA as being racist, sexist and homophobic. The content is fairly self explanatory.

The FA commenced their investigation into into this material in August 2014 and given that I understand Mackay has admitted sending this material which begs the question.......

WTF have the FA been doing for the past 3 months?

How has this matter not yet been resolved before dropping yet another club into turmoil? Whilst I have to question the wisdom of Dave Whelan in seemingly blinding himself to the facts and not staying away from an individual who is apparently toxic imtil AFTER the investigation is concluded, nevertheless the FA should surely be taken to task for letting this drag on for such a long time.

 
I agree with what you say Skoorb, but, I bet and have no access to any ones phone, I bet Mackays txts were no differant to what any other person has sent to others in jest, like what Whelan said about calling the chinese community 'Chinks' its wrong in this day and age but Whelan is in his 70s, and should he be hung out to dry over it,? I don't know, we have all said things that we later regret, have we not?
And for Vincent Tan to say ban Whelan is wrong too, this from a man who has bought a football club just because he can and changes the whole fabric of that club by changing 100 years of history by swapping the colour of the clubs shirt against the fans wishes, thus Allianating the fans,so this guy is a joke imo.

Mackays is a football manager, the FA are pussyfooting around this should have been dealt with ages ago, Whelan was wrong to sack Uwe Rosler imo as he was the best thing since sliced bread last year, and Whelan even came outsaying he was the best man he has worked with, but then he said that about, Coyle, Martinez, Bruce, and all the other men he has sacked, so is that guy is deluded, or another 'Deadly Doug'? The man wants loyalty but doesn't give it to his managers? Strange that.
 
MacKay is an antediluvian w***er, if Wigan choose to hire him after what he's done then that just shows how out of touch Whelan is.

I feel for the fans, but Wigan deserve everything they get.
 
Like Cityman says, Whelan has said what everyone says but he has said it in public. I haven't heard a Chinese person referred to as a ' chink' since I was a lad though.
MacKay should have been given a talking to ages ago and I shows the failings of the FA that he has not.
