The FA Cup Thread

Think what i will take from that game is we can turn it on when we have to, but ffs, we have to start better than that, a game i could have turned off was enjoyable in the end. Have to be more consistant.

Ian Wright is correct that Youri isn't suited to being that high up. Especially against physical sides.
As soon as we dropped him back he carved them open and we scored again.

I wonder could you do what Real used to do with Casemiro at Madrid. Push Onana forward into attacking mid out of the way so the real footballers can pass it up the field and then he just drops back and screens the defence.

Well for 60 mins I guess we seemed well on the way to that 7th consecutive loss at home in the FA cup but always thought we only had to up our game a bit to beat them. Other than their goal, they didn’t threaten us at all. Had a bit of luck with Ings having to play most of the game and after just getting home and seeing the corner that was given to us by Mr Robinson he’s definitely the best referee we’ve had at B6 this season….bloody awful decision tbf, not even close to a West Ham player!

Job done and we're in the next round which is all that matters in the cup.

Wasn't pretty for an hour but then we seemed to play more with the heart than the head and we're much better when we do that. Certainly the tempo for the last half an hour was as it should be.

JJ looked ace and that's the sharpest I've seen Buendia since he came back.

Bit of luck with the corner , but I reckon he was making up for the one he missed a minute earlier. Typical ref really.

Thought Paqueta was a disgrace throwing himself to the floor whenever one of the least physical defenders in the league, Konsa, made any sort of contact. It helped when Summerville went off. All of that said 60 mins+ was decent and deservedly in Round 4. Well done Villa.

I still think Kamara is the best player at this club, never gets noticed like a striker would, but just watch him. Rolls Royce.
He's certainly about the only one who seems to know what his job is. I just wish he had a bit more leadership qualities about him because midfield desperately needs someone who demands better from those around them.

West Ham will undoubtedly think themselves hard done by but they scored then basically pulled back to the edge of their own box. Very progressive from Potter.

At the end of the day they didn't have the will or the quality to win the game. We did. End of story.

As for us. Frustrating. We have it in us to play some great stuff but we are so fucking lethargic at times.
