The Ezri Konsa Thread

Konsa's ok at RB when our backs are to the wall against the likes of Man City etc, but going forwards he looks very uncomfortable. Noticed today when Bailey wanted the ball played behind the LB, Konsa was calling him to come and meet it and playing it short. All that happens then is it gets knocked back and makes our right hand side ineffective going forwards. The sooner Matty Cash is back the better

He provided the worst of all worlds today, horrific going forward coupled with utterly abysmal defending, probably his worst game in a Villa shirt.
He runs like he's carrying an injury since he came back from England duty. never seen so many players go past him.

He's our best CB and needs to play there, especially when DC is his replacement. We're basically choosing to swap a weak RB for a weak RB AND a weak CB. Doesn't make sense.

If RB is the weak spot make allowances for it. Don't torpedo the whole right side of the defence.

I... I think I'm criticising Emery. Feels weird.

Yes absolutely, probably the biggest impact of playing Konsa at right back is that we lose our best centre half in the process.

At £12m he's not far off McGinn levels of value. What a player.
At £17m what does that make Emi?

We have a huge amount of value in the team everywhere, but you’re right SJM is probably the best bit of business in a long time that wasn’t a Bosman.

Been here since 2019 and only 36 pages long this thread.

Meanwhile Duran is on 118 pages already .🤣
It's because he calmly goes about his business and because he's so consistent it's just the norm for him so doesn't really need commenting on. I bet the vast majority of comments are when he's had to play at right back.
For me,anyway, hands down our best defender and probably needs mentioning in the same breath as Mellberg, Laursen and even God himself in the modern era

Go back and read page 19 and see all those who were slagging him off unbelievable Jeff

But I thought page 4 had an interesting post from some idiot . :whist:…….

Quietly going about his business is Mr Konsa.

He looks like he is going to be a class act in my humble. Only 22. Very exciting prospect

Ezri doesn't like to court publicity does he. Just goes about his job with the minimum of fuss and goes home.

I did feel sorry for him at Fulham at half time when he was walking with Tyrone back to the bench and as they passed the Villa fans Tyrone got his song sung to him and there was barely any acknowledgement of Ezri. !!!

@Villan57 was in my thoughts lol.
