The Ezri Konsa Thread

Thought Ezri was excellent yesterday. Getting back to his best again. Another bargain for £12m. Nowhere near Harry Maguire’s levels of course but maybe Mr Southgate may cast a fleeting glance his direction one day…! There again, pigs might fly!
My Son absolutely hates him, I love winding him up by telling him Konsa is better than Mings which I've always thought

Ezri is class. His positioning and reading of the game means he wins duels without having to lunge or chase around. So he doesn't catch the eye as much - but I'm sure players and (good) managers appreciate it.

Emery’s weaving his magic on him…his ability to pick out a pass was limited 12 months ago, markedly better now and so important in terms of what Emery wants his centre backs to do. Flies under the radar a lot…as only 21 pages of thread indicate despite him being here for 4 years!

Yep impressive how much better his short and mid range passing has got in such a short time. Earning his way into the club of classic Villa CBs.

Got a bit of spice to him aswell which I like. He did it yesterday again when someone was late in on him but he is always having a chunter away at the opposition.

He does seem to go completely under the radar doesn't he. When Mings was getting call ups for Englan, deservedly BTW, Ezri should have been right there with him. Now people will look to Pau as he's the fancy new boy but Konsa is still probably the vital cog in our defence.

Closing in on 150 appearances for us and still 25. Thank god Tuanzabe decided to stay at Utd and Deano went back to Brentford for this lad.

and he's only 25 now, people forget that another 3 years before his peak
This is his year to step up as a leader (and Dougie which he is). Konsa can cement himself in this backline and replace Mings leadership and organization. I am sure Unai is hammering that into him.

My biggest fear is Arsenal looking at him because lads his age with his sort of style are usually Arsenal fans too.

he supports Spurs

Good for him, he's really stepping up, and playing with Torres seems to be taking his abilities with the ball a step further as well.
