What's this effin obsession with Trippier on the left when you have two very talented LWB's in the squad who don't even make the match day squad. Southgate gonna fall on his sword, the tinkering stubborn fool.

Sky pundit adds:
"Trippier, meanwhile, has not started a game at left-back for Atletico. In club football, it seems you might have to go back to a Champions League game for Tottenham against APOEL in 2017 for his last start on the left. "

and

"Trippier is a set-piece specialist with vast experience. He has the manager’s trust. His presence makes the team appear more compact defensively. "

What set piece specialist?. His crossing was poor for Spurs and apart from one stunning free kick at the WC, I don't see any of that. ...and we'll certainly not see any crosses from the left.

Sky guy continues:
"Manchester United Luke Shaw was in the Premier League team of the year. Ben Chilwell impressed in Chelsea’s Champions League final win. That is before you even consider Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka. "

Mount and Foden just ooze class. Croatia can't handle their movement and touch.

Phillips is in beast mode too.

Walker still having brain farts.

I said the same thing when I saw Tripps in the lineup...dude hasn't really played that much since leaving Spurs...

Does England really not have a better pick at that position?

He has looked really poor. But as we know all he needs is one chance.

I hate players that just sit around all game and do nothing...but wait for that one opportunity. I would much rather have a full squad of hard working players all pulling together.

It pains me that Kane has devolved into that...
