The Emi Martinez Thread

Just noticed on Sky sports that Emi is 3rd on the list of most saves behind Sam Johnstone and Ramsdale and just ahead of the clown at Leeds.

just shows how many shots we are still conceding

Makes you wonder if we have overhyped our defenders. We know our midfield isn’t good enough both going forward and defensively, but we’re high fiving our defenders and treating them like gods gift - three of the back 5 were part of the worst defence in the league only last season.

Emi is an absolute worldie keeper, and makes everyone in front of him look better than they are, because his stats are so incredible.

He's been incredible in the majority of games, I think we looked pretty solid the last 2 games with Konsa at right-back and Hause who is very good in the air.
The stats for saves are quite shocking with only the keepers from the two worst sides ahead of him

Which season? This last season only 6 teams had a better Goals Against figure and only 7 teams had a better Goal Difference figure. And that's in spite of our off form period, injury to Jack and injury to Cash.

We have a cracking good defence whatever; Emi is a major part but so are the others. Maybe time to give JT some credit.
