The Boubacar Kamara Thread

I am a big fan of Douggie and think he's been a much better DM than many make out, but Kamara looks much snappier in the tackle.
i can't agree , he's one of the key reasons we are finishing 14th . Onwards and upwards hopefully with auld spaghetti legs onboard now

I'd be disappointed to see him go, I'd be sacrificing Marv and Sanson before Dougie. If he isn't happy or doesn't want to extend then yes make some money off him. If it came out that Gerrard wanted rid I'd be immensely disappointed. Personally, I found him left wanting in DM but I think that's my expectation of a player in that position. To me, he seems far better further forward.

That's the issue. Luiz is not a DM and has been asked to play out of position due to our lack of a convincing DM in the recent past.
where on earth does this narrative come from ? asked to play out of position ?? He's been playing there for 3 seasons for us, badly. He just isn't very good, accept it.

It’s a difficult one for me with Douglas. When we bought him he was definitely a class above what we had before though there wasn’t much to beat in truth. I still like him and he’s young and could well improve. But he does seem a bit one paced which is quite limiting in the modern game. Luckily we have in Gerrard and McAllister far better judges than me.

I can see Doug staying as we apparently want 1 more midfielder in and unless Gerrards suddenly changed his mind on Sanson then its the Frenchman who will be on his way.

If both left we'd have Kamara, Nakamba as our DMs with Ramsey, Mcginn and whoever the new lad is fighting for the 2 more advanced midfield slots. Perhaps Gerrard is planning on giving Iroegbunam, Chukwuemeka and Ramsey jr more playing time.

He played well as part of a double pivot for two seasons - yes, I know you completely disagree - but he's been left exposed under Gerrard as a single pivot, as he's not a specialist DM and needs help.

The "narrative" comes from Gerrard himself: “Dougie has done OK for us. We’ve been happy with his training level and the performances that he has given. We believe there’s room for him to improve. He’s doing us a job as a No 6. We know that he prefers to play a bit more advanced but he has helped us out on the back of Nakamba’s injury. We rate him extremely highly.”

We won't want to sell anyone who has played 30 games last season but those players might be like Targett and want out rather than fight for a place
