His physicality is massive, there is no way around it, the team is small and weak in the middle without him. The 3 first-choice CMs are all 5'8 or smaller, only John seems to have any really recovery pace, none of them have a proper defensive head on them and the tackling from all 3 is questionable.

Tielemens is a 10 or a #8 in a 3. John is a #8 and Dougie is a #8. Young Tim could be a #6 or an #8 too. Kamara is a #6.

If you want a rock solid team you do need a Rodri, he is the template of a near perfect Centre Mid because he is so immense he is like a 6 and a half. Rodri is everything the media tell people Declan Rice is plus some!

Kamara is the closest thing we have to that. Dougie can do everything Rodri can from a technical standpoint but he has none of the physicality.

Also in the case of him, Emi2 and Tyrone what players do we get back. Massive injury, are they ever the same physically or mentally after suffering ACLs.

Maybe this is lazy because he's Spanish but I can see us going in for a player like Mikel Merino this summer. We need more strength in this position.
 
yep If he recovers it still won't be til half way into next season before he's back so yep we definitely need someone as the current options aren't good enough for the position.
tim clearly not fancied so guess he'll be sold and dendonkey as well if we can

We've already replaced those two but Kamara was injured too late to get a replacement in.
