I am not going to argue about inconsistency but FFS given that the club are the only team in the Premier League still in with a chance of winning all 4 competitions as we enter February you would think that merited a bit of praise or positive comment? Something that celebrates this achievement? It is after all the eighth time the club will be visiting Wembley in five seasons (& on the anniversary of the League Cup win in 1976 no less, you know. The one with the delightful bicycle kick from Tueart)...

Not from the BBC who have chosen this bizarre angle/nothing piece of journalistic 'fluff'. No chance of anything in depth then? Nothing that would require the keyboard warrior to get up off his ar*e, detach himself from the computer and actually go and find out some decent information on which to base an insightful article?

Meanwhile, the defending champions are in a relegation battle, the people's champions have failed to impress mightily, and the rags spent more than we did over the summer to be sitting in 5th right now, out of the champions league.

But it's us, 3 points off the top, with a chance to still win all four trophies, that are the "mad" club. Right.
 
Dunno who the writer was btw but I think he's pursuing a nothing angle there looking for attention. The rags have the most expensive squad. I think.
 
I think Leicester get a pretty bad press coverage too considering their success this season - but it is much more interesting to write about underachievers like the rags, Chelsea and to a certain extent Liverpool and Everton than it is where success is expected - as in ourselves and Arsenal.

For instance a review of something bad (theatre, gig, film etc) is far more entertaining to read - and presumably to write, than something successful.

And whilst a little more recognition might be nice do we want to become the people's/establishment team?

 
I hear you kenny - and the answer is no to that last question. Don't expect to be universally liked, will never have any sense of entitlement when it comes to the game but at the same time this sort of weak minded, limited nonsense seems to continue to perpetuate the myth in the eyes of the media that the club remain a joke and would still be front of the line when it comes to "cups for cock ups".

This really is a piece of fluff 'journalism' but beneath it all I can't help feeling that it's rooted in the same old bias being exhibited where the changes made at the club remain ignored.

i realise that balance in journalism rarely excites editors but would be nice to think they could find some positives.....

And JB is right.....the lead up to the cup final will be vomit inducing with all the scouse pundits infesting the media :82:

P.S. Having read the article, I think the headline is the worst bit - a couple of digs about expensive bench warmers aside, i think the guy is merely pointing out that we're still just as inconsistent as we've always been
