The BBC plumbs new depths

Well, the BBC has totally out done itself by inventing one of the most inane, utterly ridiculous ‘quizzes’ in the history of football.

Desperate in their attempts to trivialise City’s record goals scoring feat they have plumbed new depths with their bafflingly stupid set of questions......including whether Cardiff City scored more than 21 goals in their brief stay in the Premier League.

Manchester City: How do their 21 goals in six Premier League games compare?

It is utterly bizarre, unfathomablly shallow and completely meaningless.

My immediate reaction was WTF?

If you compared the sequence to, say, the other PL Champions over the past 25 years or related it to similar goal scoring in the Bundesliga or La Liga etc it might make sense. But to compare this to whether it is more or less than player X has scored in his PL career or whether player Y has scored more hat tricks?

I say again. What The **ck?

Whilst on the subject of the BBC, here's their image of the top of the table last night after Arsenal’s win

Proof (if proof were needed), that BBC Sport is run by rags.

Even further proof here

https://www.prolificnorth.co.uk/2017/05/man-utds-coppack-named-social-media-lead-for-bbc-sport/

Manchester United’s Nick Coppack has been appointed as the new social media lead at BBC Sport.

The role has been vacant since Ian Singleton was named editor of the BBC Sport website in January.

Coppack has been social media manager at Manchester United since July 2014.

Prior to that he was a contributing editor for the club’s media outlets for almost eight years. He will officially start at the neighbouring BBC in July.

The BBC Sport Twitter account has 6.68m followers, while their Facebook account has 12.8m likes. This is still less than social media giants United, who have 11.1m followers on Twitter and 73.3m likes on Facebook.

It's only a quiz - and not a particularly easy one either!

And it is a sort of recognition that we are scoring lots of lovely goals. Wouldn't the BBC really be putting the knife in if the quiz took the form of - 'well City are scoring lots of goals but it wasn't always like this, remember life under Stuart Pearce...?' - followed by a quiz based on how useless we were back then.

Nothing worse than not being talked about!

Paranoia rules - good times!

Well, it would seem some of us are not alone and several Blues felt the BBC were out of order

We will watch with interest and see if he he is as good as his word. Didn’t really have a good answer for the question about “why not show 3 teams immediately either side of severnth place” though

At least this guy is aware that we City fans are not happy with the rag bias and it will indeed be interesting to see if there is any difference from now on. I'm not holding my breath.

No idea if it’s his first day but the description on the BBC football page describes the rags as “hammering” CSKA Moscow.

They are winning 0-3 :024:

Ok, not directly related to City but I will post it here as it is related to the BBC.

Believable?

“Match of the Day 2: Newcastle subtitle error leaves BBC red-faced”

“An "unfortunate error" in subtitling led to Newcastle United being labelled "black and white scum" during the BBC's Match of the Day 2 programme.”

Haha, that's like Joleon Lescott a couple of seasons back tweeting when his phone was in his pocket.
