The Aston Villa v Forest Thread

No, agreed, some performances will no doubt be better as well though.... won't they?!

Not pretty but 3 points in the bag....happy days! Thought we were decent first half, as usual went to sleep from half time for 20 mins but second goal came at the right time to give us another lift. A word of caution however....Burton on Tues won't be the automatic three points some are suggesting and I can imagine a bit of a renewed meltdown if we draw, dare to mention lose...! They have lost only one of their last 6 league games and at home, have beaten Blues ( no great scalp I know!) and Fulham, drawing against Sheffield Weds, losing by a single goal against Cardiff. I know if we harbour hopes of a top 2 finish we've got to look for 3 points at the likes of Burton but a draw won't be that bad a result providing we follow it up with a win on Saturday.

I stick to what I said at the start of the month; 11-12 points is the absolute minimum for Bruce to keep his job. We have 8 points so far. A win and a draw might be acceptable, just, although not exactly stellar. Just 3 points from the next 2 matches and I think questions will be asked, seriously, and anything less could be the end.

Not sure it's been mentioned, but watching highlights back again and it occurred to me Kodjia's through ball for Adomah.

Cracking piece of vision for him and hopefully a sign of things to come given his ball hog heaviness where he was taking the pot shot when better options were on.

Happy with the result. EFL is a hard league. It isn't the ''pretty'' football you sometimes get in the prem depending on whom you are playing. We haven't done pretty football since God knows when. I want results. I don't care how they grind them out.

Spot on. It's all about finding a formula to grind out wins however ugly . The team structure seems to be stabilising now but we have to capitalise this week now with 6 more points .
Burton away last year ended our late run, we simply cannot have that again & Bolton at home we need to win that one in any fashion , I doubt it will be a big win but I don't care 1 nil is fine

I think people just need to accept and get used to the fact that this division is void of quality.

If you want pretty football watch Man City and Barcelona on Sky.

Winning ugly is what it takes thats why Bruce's record in getting teams up is so good.

Interesting ratings from some.

Pretty simple to me. Adomah and Kodjia were the star players on the day. The rest of them all did Ok.

7's all round, 8 for Kodjia and 8.5 for Adomah.

Personally I thought Snodgrass had a poor game. Gave the ball away so often and he looks easy to defend against as all he seems to do is cut inside.

Fair play to him though he worked hard and put a shift in.

At some point, we'll hammer someone perhaps one of either Bolton or Burton, who knows

Never before have I predicted us to hammer someone and it actually happens :19:
