Interestingly, with the aid of video replays, hawkeye, hotspot and everything else, the 3rd umpire still came up with 2 howlers yesterday.
 
I really hope that 'Hawkeye' will come up trumps in the Prem this year, I believe it has been a good thing for whichever sport has used it.
 
One of my mates walked straight out of Uni into a job developing the software for hawkeye in football, snow tested a football pitch with white bed sheets everywhere, very high tech.

Great first few days for each team at different points so far. As an england fan I'm encouraged that neither team seems light years ahead of the other but the aussies really have had all the luck to be where they are. Come on the POHMS!
 
Umpire misses an obvious edge by Broad and the Aussies have no referrals left !
Now I know what PL refs do in the summer holidays lol.
 
Very entertaining 1st test, looked as if the Aussie tail could carry them home, but England go 1 up.

Highs, lows, dodgy umpire decisions a plenty on both sides with a one day type finish to a 5 day test, all in glorious sunshine. Bring on the rest of the series!
 
Lol, was a bit understated Dimi.
It was a terrific test match that shows that test cricket is far from boring.
I'll take a decent test match over the slugfest that is T20 any time.
 
Brilliant game, well done England. Anyone got any spare false fingernails? ('SG4L' maybe?) I've bitten all mine away.

Can't wait for the next one.

Cook wins the toss and chooses to bat, both openers out in the first five overs lol, what a pratt.
 
Lol, it is asking a bit much from Cook and Root to actually get some runs now and again I suppose.
Much preferred Strauss as captain I must admit, Cook gets out too early too often and sets a bad example, how can he as captain have a go at the other batsman in the dressing room if they're not performing when he's supposed to lead the way ?

Anyone going to any of the tests? I have my tickets for 2nd day of 3rd test for me and my son.

Having NEVER been to a cricket game before in my life i think it should be a nice into for us. Any advice appreciate (What to take etc).

Looking good so far, hopefully a few more wickets and get them to follow on ;-)
