The Anyone But England Euros Thread

Congrats to Spain on winning the 2024 Euros
The best teams don't always win the trophy

It's not over yet

And the look on the face of Morata as he left the pitch suggests he won't be playing in the final. Which is horrible for him. But won't help Spain if they are missing their captain.

I appreciate not all young players have his skills but sometimes giving younger players an opportunity, playing with better high level players, makes it easier to adapt than making them play at a lower level chap.

By the way chap, just how were those cigarettes of yours chap?

at least we can't lose to France anymore. should we get past the Dutch then we have done ok. I don't see us winning anything here.
Umm. I think technically we can and quite probably will. Not that anyone would care except to add it to the list of Southgate's defeats to top teams.

I don’t think anyone is saying that there is just one magic formula. Foden wasn’t loaned. Rooney was introduced as a 16 year old and Owen was similar. It will always be a judgement call but it has to be based on some sort of understanding of the players ability.

I think Pep knew the huge potential of Foden and didn't want to risk elsewhere

He personally wanted to oversee his development

That's very very rare

The other 2 thrown in the deep end and thrived immediately

Would be safe enough to start Osong in a friendly or two if they think he has superkid potential

And this is the thing. The coaches will know whether a player is a superkid - it will be obvious. Osong and Taylor aren’t. I would still be happy to see them play in a friendly though - see if they gel.
