The All New TV Thread

I watched the first episode of Mobland. It's awful. Pierce Brosnan and Helen Miran doing these terrible comedic accents and Tom Hardy being a gritty East End gangster, it's like two different shows at the same time. Why does Pierce Brosnan keep trying to do these stupid accents? He can just do his James Bond accent.
 
I finished the X-Files mythology, the last episode is slightly left open, but I doubt they will make more.

It think it went on too long, they should have had one or two more seasons after the first movie and wrapped it up, after that it lost it's magic and became fragmented.
 
Not finished yet, but very much agree. One thing hit me watching the series was how many wasted and totally irrelevant episodes to pad there actually are. Flip from something major happening plot wise and then 4/5 fluffers where nothing has happened before they pick up the plot again.

Would be a travesty if they rebooted it now though - just too much time as passed.

Good trip down memory lane though.

In other news, Undeclared War hasn't been bad once you get beyond the poorly done 'fill for 4 years' opening.

Quite enjoying The Boroughs on Flix.

Duffer bruvs are executive producers so has the old Stranger Things vibe going on.

Also, for Gomorrah fans , prequel series just started on Sky.
 
The Bombing of Pan Am 103. (Netflix)

A very good drama that brings the memories of the time and the awful bombing of the plane.

Cape Fear.

Started well but is starting to drag a bit. Think I'm about 7 epiosdes into the 10 and considering ditching it, but will probably see it through now.

Mad isn't it that an Irish actor can't do a decent Irish accent. 🤯
 
I'm 3 episodes in to season 3 of Silo and it's boring as anything.

There isn't an episode that goes by where they don't say "we're looking for Lukas Kyle because he's Bernard's shadow", and they keep repeating this line multiple times.

I'll watch one more episode and if it's still crap I'm going to ditch it.

Each to their own I suppose because I’m absolutely loving this series.
 
I am also finding it painfully slow, I was going to ditch it, but as I'm so far in now, I might keep watching. There is a 4th season already being filmed and that will be the last.
 
Episode 4 of Silo was also slow.

But according to IMDB it all kicks off in episode 5 so I'm going to try that as the last case.

I just feel like they could have condensed the first 4 episodes into 1.
 
Aren’t most series slow burn though ? I actually prefer that to be honest. I think Silo is a unique idea for a post apocalypse scenario, and I’m intrigued to see how it finally pans out.

There's slow burn and there's slow burn...

I really liked the first season of Silo it was good, but I just think this 3rd season has fallen off a cliff to the point where I don't even know or care whether they live in the Silo or not.

But like you say each to their own.
 
Is TV just shit now?

I spent an hour flicking through the dodgy box last night trying to find something to watch. It has access to Prime, Netflix, Paramount, HBO, Apple, ITV, BBC, Disney and every other streaming service you can think of, and after an hour of looking I ended up on Dave watching repeats of Have I Got News For You.

Feels like the golden age of TV is over. Is there any shows out now like The Sopranos, Breaking Bad or Game of Thrones, that are hugely popular and everyone is talking about? If there is I haven't heard about it.

I think there's too much to choose from now, you either hear about something from a friend or just get lucky.
