I think the title is self explanatory, if you are drinking good booze and want share it with other forum members post it here.

Right now I am enjoying a 14 year old Balvenie Carribean cask single malt scotch. :7:

It is a real word, just checked my Official Copy of Merriam Webster Dictionary and I found it. If you can't trust Websters who can you trust. :15:

Yup I am a real live American. As Football grows in popularity in The States more of us strays are going to turn up. I just could not support the clubs that American TV shoves down our throats. Wanted to support a team with Character, history and a winning tradition and well here I am.

So why Forest then, if you don't mind me asking?

Obviously we have history, not so sure about the rest of the attributes you describe (well not in recent times anyway!).
 
Not a problem. When I started following football and was looking for a team to support, I did not have family tradition to fall back on. Also, I got the sense that many folks here in the States just chose one of the top four teams in the EPL without understanding how the sport developed in England, the role it played in WW1. How some of the rivalries between teams can trace their origins back to the labor strife in the late 19th century and why these rivalries can be so personal. These are things we Yanks will not understand. I wanted to have an appreciation of this. It would be the same way if someone from England wanted to follow Baseball here in the States.

It also pissed me off to no end when a local sports Radio host who is a Man U fan referred to second tier of English Football as minor league. The douchebag had no idea what he was talking about. Had no idea of what happens to a team when it gets relegated from Premier and the revenue constraints on the second tier.
Which is one of the many reasons why I hate with all my heart the top 4 EPL teams and Liverpool. I also think the Premier league was the worse thing that could happen to football but that is for another day.

So by going through that process and watching the late season run Forest put on in 2013, I settled on Forest. Just something about Forest agreed with me. That is how I ended up here.
 
Fair enough, seems as good a reason as any!

I think what you say about ignorance towards clubs outside the PL is pertinent not just in the US, but all over the world in all honesty.

It's all about the top four as you say, the clamour for and achievement of Champions League football is almost like a cup semi final that runs all season.

I have to admit I enjoy watching PL football. I suppose I've been suckered in by Sky but I get pleasure from watching classy players such as David Silva, Sergio Aguero and such players. They are worth watching because they are damn good at what they do.

Plus, as Forest aren't likely to eat at the top table again in my lifetime, I may as well get some pleasure from football!
