Vital Champions League
Have not had chance to go through them in detail but losses are down from 25m to 15m.

Cannot immediately see where the saving has come from: Income, Admin costs, wages, profit on disposals are all similar to the previous year.

There is a 5m loan written off which accounts for half of the saving.

And there is another entry on the website relating to 21m of debt being converted to equity; no doubt the timing of that means it will be recorded in the next set of accounts.

We bought loads of Bitcoin last November.

Nothing much to see in the accounts which we did not know already:

EBIT loss down by 5m

Income very much the same despite the loss of two Months home games

Amortisation down by 2m

Wages up by 2m

Judging by the minimal amounts of interest paid, all of the Clubs debt is to EM.

Money spent on the new stand now in excess of 2m, so that is not the pipe dream so would have you believe.

Cat 1 applied for AND efforts being made to find a new Academy and Training site.

Total amount of money committed to the Club by Marinakis since buying the Club is a whopping £187m - that is hard cash, not paper debt rolled over.

Think we spent around 36 and had 16 income... Thats before Covid fully struck tho so there could be allowances for like 7 mil loss of fans next time. So I suppose a lot of our situation down to how much of the 9 million in total sposnsors/endorsements we lose?

that sounds like he had lost 187 but that isnt the case is it? All the income and transfers isnt taken into account there. How longs he been here now, 3.5 years? Apparently we are midtable average in the Championship with every owner having to find 20mill. Ouch

some things are relative tho I guess. The previous season we spent over 20 million quid, this season only about 5 million. Thats 15 mil right there in relative terms

Always good to get some hard facts. Despite the cluster fuck on the pitch, does suggest maranakis is giving it a proper go. Goes some way to dismissing the idea we are just a play thing. If the stand and cat 1 can actually be delivered then he will have claim to being our best owner since ND and possibly better.

A bit disingenuous there paz, 2m on the new stand, application for cat 1 and the training ground, much better than a couple of big TVs

Yes having a net positive effect on the infrastructure of the club is probably my highest hope for Marinakis, but its definitely better than what we have previously had.
Some of the decision making regarding the squad and recruitment has been poor imo (last Summer particularly), but cat 1 is huge and reducing debt is unambiguously good.

Not being disingeneous not even sure why youd say that. Im just saying he hasnt lost 187m and besides, 2m and cple of big tv's IS about what weve invested in that sense. Not sure is any debate that side or where critisicm is due. CAT 1 , well, thats another thing altogether and one thats debateable as to ts value.. at least to some clubs like Blackburn it clearly is not bringing the rewards they hoped for, so it isnt all roses.

Agree its not all roses but we aren't a play thing, efforts are being made to modernise the club, recruitment aside. We haven't seen that for too long, ever since ND gave up.

Fair play.
Spose my do it on the pitch first mantra gives me a bias and its hard to put aside that recruitment. Its 70 players :)
